Johann Sebastian Bach, considered by many to be the greatest church musician EVER, wrote 3 cantatas for Trinity 20, and today we listen to Cantata BWV 180, ‘Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele” (Adorn yourself, thou beloved soul), first performed on October 22, 1724 at the St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, where Bach spent the last 30 years of his career. Today’s performance is by the Leonhardt-Consort / Gustav Leonhardt.
