if you know about dairy farming . . . it's fairly common for there to be a . . . drum roll

frog pond.

the heart shaped pond is too small to be natural. It's put in the landscape to provide a place for ice skating and for tad poles.

often there will be another type of pond, that is not water, near where a lot of cattle are grazed.

that's not a frog pond, and it's nasty.

the place is a hillside.

there very well may be tunnels in that location.

but the heart shaped pond is, by my calculations, a typical feature of cattle country in that part.

It's a common feature in cattle country: a watering pond for cattle, or a small swiming pond. They usually are filled with tadpoles.

and fishermen might drop some caught trout in there just for the hell of it.

It's not a septic pond, because it's too close to the house.

in some places an open pit sewer pond is 'OK' if it's used for cattle or pig farm 'runoff' (IE It's where all the manure flows towards.)
