News broke on Wednesday that Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden had secretly tied the knot with Melissa Cohen in Los Angeles on May 16, 2019. TMZ reports they were married by a minister who runs an “instant marriage” business and Biden’s family, including his father, weren’t present for the secret ceremony.

The couple reportedly met in May, too, and have matching tattoos. Their respective families confirmed the wedding news.

Melissa Cohen Was Previously Married

Hunter is reportedly fresh off his breakup with Hallie Olivere Biden, the widow of his brother, Beau Biden, who passed away of brain cancer in 2015. Hunter and Hallie had been dating since at least 2017 before they broke up sometime this year.

He was previously married to Kathleen Biden (nee Buhle) from 1993 to 2017. They are parents to three daughters, Maisy, Naomi, and Finnegan.

This isn’t Cohen’s first marriage, either. She was previously married to one Jason Landver, an L.A.-based entrepreneur.They married in early 2011 in a South African wedding before divorcing in 2014.

Cohen Is an Activist

It’s unclear what Cohen does for a living.However, she does stay active on Facebook, where she’s outspoken about her views.

She uses the platform to celebrate her South African and Jewish heritages. When she isn’t showcasing the natural and cultural beauty of her home country in posts, she’s displaying beautiful pictures from her local and international travels.

Cohen also speaks up about environmental causes and works to help indigenous communities around the world.
