Consider the bigger picture.
Why did Cain murder Abel?
How has the cabal 'protected' their reign?
Addendum - depending on how you translate the use/meaning, "John" and its derivatives mean "God's gift" or "God's blessing".
Frankly, what is very peculiar is how much the Anime/manga sector of the world fits into the Q picture… As well as how much the symbolism of the cabal seems to be used.
Naruto, as pictured, is effectively the origin story. Depending upon how you play it, the Shinto lore of Izanami can be seen as being Kaguya. Though the publisher forced a butchering of the plot toward the end.
Kill la Kill… Well… It's pretty much what is playing out right now. Secret lineages guarding secrets. It's symbolism squared, but you'll probably catch the covering/loss of eyes thing. At first I thought it was a nod to Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi… But that never seemed to fit with Nui's presence… Until you factor in the cabal.
Dead Leaves…. Apparently, it gets more bizzarre than Fooly Cooly and in a single sitting. Symbolism everywhere and at drive-by pacing.
Psycho-Pass… Urobuchi almost has to be part of Q team. Just… Watch it and be blown away. Less symbolic than it is a fantastic theatrical rendition of the ideological conflicts underwriting human society. But it arrives at… Well… What we see.
Japan wasn't as completely decimated after World War 2 as Germany was. It is curious, particularly in Kill la Kill, that there is as much mention of the Nazi party as there is. Trigger is hinting at something, methinks.
But I digress from the original point. Even the Matrix is based off of Animatrix and a number of works prior that have their roots in Japan. Or, at least, that was where they became popular before being bootlegged into the U.S. under scorched Earth publishing legal battles.
