I work with a guy who was hospitalized after he collapsed from working himself nearly to death. Night shift supervisor and ran a lawn care business.
He's an industrious young man who has all the things people clamor for in their material lives. Always fussing over his house and lawn and other such things.
In truth, I have given away more than he's earned and while being more concerned with observing things and guiding the hands of fate from time to time (they love fiction and such - as you are well aware).
There are those who measure their worth based on how others perceive their status.
However, real gods do not require worship, anon. They are just as undeniably powerful whether anyone believes them, worships them, or not.
There are people out there who choose to pursue things far more interesting than the game of one-upsmanship your kind enjoys. Chickens racing to be first to the feed can't comprehend the existence of an eagle.
