The small dot at the top represents enlightenment.
the line underneath is the barrier or veil between the physical and spiritual.
The top of the "3" so to speak is deep sleep which is the closest we get to enlightenment as no thought or ego is present during deep sleep.
The 'O' represents dreaming, where we get to experience the spiritual but interlaced with thought / ego as we dream.
The bottom of the '3' represents awake as we are right now. Thought and ego cloud us, cause suffering and incessently chatter away inside our heads. It is the furthest away from enlightenment.
