Left Hand Path symbolizes valuing the advancement and preservation of the self, glorification of more temporal and terrestrial goals, and personal power, rather than spiritual attainments. Followers of this path seek to become ‘divinities’ in their own right.
The middle (immodest) finger, digitus obscenus (obscene finger), digitus infamis (disreputable finger), and fool’s finger is the finger of the planet Saturn. When extended solitary while the other fingers folded, the middle finger represents the phallus of the sun god Baal, Ra or Nimrod, as does the thumb, and the folded fingers in this pose represent the testicles. It is often regarded as an obscene gesture. This finger of Saturn (Satan) symbolizes the borderline state between consciousness and the unconsciousness.
