Guys I've been telling my elderly mom. for months now, who's very upset about "CV stuff" that it's all about the election. 90% of what I say she disregards but I've played this drum so hard that she finally said to me today that she "hopes it all goes away after the election." And now I don't think it will "go away." She's not stupid but she's not interested in nuance. She's finally listening to me a little bit but when it doesn't "go away." she will probably go back to thinking I'm a nut and never listen again. How can I talk to her about this, and more practically, when do you all think it will actually "go away"? I shouldn't have said it would go away. How can I talk to her about this? She finally listened to me a little bit and it's not going to happen.

Yes but just because they enemy is momentarily defeated doesn't mean the enemy no longer exists. I'm worried they will prolong as long as possible in order to undermine potus, a la russia, spying, impeegmint, etc. It's already ensconced in peoples' minds, why would the stop?

I don't doubt that. It's not about me. I'm trying to assuage and guide my mom. I'm already careful about what I say to her. If I blow my credibility she won't pay attention again. I finally have a toehold. Don't want to fuck it up.
