I've developed a similar theory from observing the baby boomers in my own life. Despite the stereotype, notallboomers are successful and conservative. There's a lot of whiny liberal failure boomers that stumbled through life drunk, stoned, ending up with nothing and I just happen to be surrounded by them. I think their warped perception of POTUS is showing them everything they didn't accomplish in life and it infuriates them. It also goes without saying that they display many of the negative qualities they claim POTUS has in spades (i.e. boorish, rude, stupid, dishonest ect.)
In short, you might be onto something. POTUS is the vison of a successful man of his generation, and the failures of that generation despise him.

Not really. I have no degree, a beater car, just got let go and have $812 to my name. But I was also surrounded primarily by losers my whole life and the most important thing I've learned from them is whatnotto do. Even if you are technically correct (environment and who you know being the biggest factors to success) I've learned that being resentful about my lot in life gets me exactly nowhere. And I've met enough people who came from nothing that became something that I know it isn't impossible.
I'm here because in whatever world comes after this one that POTUS keeps bragging about (the best is yet to come,) I'm hoping I can be successful in it. Because being poor and resenting anyone not in my position has wasted enough of my time.
