Leaving Las Vegas? Sheldon Adelson Explores $6BN Sale Of Vegas Casinos

In the latest sign that Las Vegas' services and hospitality sector-focused mostly on the gambling industry - is experiencing long term economic scarring, Sheldon Adelson, known for decades as the biggest player in the gambling hub, is reportedly pulling out.

Sources told Bloomberg that Adelson's Sands is shifting concentration to Asian gaming markets and is seeking an exit from U.S. casino operations. Sands has hired an advisor to prepare Venetian Resort Las Vegas, the Palazzo, and the Sands Expo Convention Center for a $6 billion sale.

Aside from gambling, Adelson is known as a major booster of the GOP, and recently agreed to shell out millions to support Trump's bid for the White House after a troubling period of reticence.

The sale would position Sands' as a pure gaming play in Asia, concentrating its casino portfolio primarily in Macau and Singapore. Bloomberg notes, "the U.S. was already a small and shrinking part of his business, accounting for less than 15% of revenue last year."

"The growing insignificance of the U.S. market explains to you why Las Vegas Sands is looking to offload their U.S. properties," said Ben Lee, a Macau-based managing partner at IGamiX. "It is 15% of revenue but 80% of regulatory pain and burden."

Last week, Sands reported third-quarter earnings showing the company could be approaching break-even in Macau, the world's biggest gambling market. Still, Vegas operations continued to drag as indoor capacity remained limited, and consumers stayed away from indoor spaces as daily U.S. virus cases marched higher.

Sands' decision to sell Vegas operations at depressed valuations, smack dab in a virus pandemic amid collapsed fundamentals for the tourism and gaming industry only means one thing: "It's only getting worse," as we noted Monday evening on Twitter.

How much worse?

Las Vegas economic analyst Jeremy Aguero recently warned Vegas' economic recovery could take 18 and 36 months. Just weeks ago, Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, the gaming hub's largest casino, reduced operating hours as the "V-shaped" recovery narrative for the gambling hub has faltered into fall.

This all could mean that Adelson sees more downside for U.S. gambling markets as Asia recovers more swiftly. Adelson's potential sale could be the catalyst that triggers a firesale across the Vegas Strip.

Facebook, Google Pledged $700M to ‘Buy Off the Press’ Since 2018

If the liberal media’s relative silence towards Facebook and Google’s Orwellian behavior this electoral cycle seemed deafening, perhaps it's because many outlets have received big loads of cash from them.

A Washington Monthly report headlined “How Facebook and Google Buy Off the Press” said that by 2018, both Big Tech companies “were already among the largest funders of journalism in the world.” However, since then, both corporations “have gone on to promise a total of $700 million in funding for journalism, not counting other ‘undisclosed’ funds and in-kind contributions.” What makes this funding dubious, is that “[j]ust who is receiving exactly how much from Google and Facebook remains hard to establish.”

Reportedly, both Facebook and Google disburse “most” of this funding through each organization’s “marketing and public relations budgets rather than through charitable foundations.” As a result, this makes the flow of money “as much of a black box as any search or newsfeed algorithms,” according to Washington Monthly.

The article outlined the creepy “black box” nature of Facebook and Google’s journalism funding:

Even the flows to nonprofit media entities do not necessarily become public record, because since 2018 the Internal Revenue Service has no longer required nonprofits to disclose their donors. Investigative journalists who want to follow the money need to rely on intensive gumshoe reporting of the kind few publications can afford anymore, thanks in large measure to the predations of Google and Facebook[.]

Fortunately, much of the funding can be tracked through other sources. For example, Google launched the Google News Initiative (GNI) in 2018. Washington Monthly noted that GNI had promised a whopping “$300 million in support for journalism to be distributed across the globe over three years, although the emphasis appeared to be on local news in the United States.”

In 2019, “Facebook upped the ante with a $300 million pledge over three years, matching Google’s promised giving,” Washington Monthly said.

The article claimed that Facebook had provided a “bit more detail” on specific grants. For example, “[i]n 2019, it gave 46 grants of between $5,000 and $25,000 to small, local news organizations through the Facebook Journalism Project, which were administered by the Lenfest Institute for Journalism.” However, “only $36 million was specified, and went to recipients like the Pulitzer Center ($5 mil), the American Journalism Project ($1 mil), and Report for America ($2 mil), among others.”

Obama-Era Officials Call for More Government Control of Your Facebook Feed

Writing in the Washington Post, senior Obama-era official Samantha Power has called on social media giant Facebook to do more to crush what she calls conspiracy theories and disinformation circulating on its platform.

Describing it as being “overrun with foreign disinformation,” Power demanded Mark Zuckerberg “take far more drastic steps” to “detox” the company’s algorithm. The former United States ambassador to the United Nations compared the viral vitriol circulating on Zuckerberg’s platform to the weaponized disinformation campaigns in the former Yugoslavia, implying that it could help spark a conflict in the United States.

52 percent of Americans get news on Facebook, making it an enormously powerful and influential news service, not just a social media or messaging app. For years, it has at least partially outsourced its news feed algorithm cultivation to the Atlantic Council, a NATO cutout organization funded by the U.S. government and headed and controlled by former CIA chiefs. Thus, the government already has significant control over the content on America’s most important media platform.

Zuckerberg also recently admitted that in 2017 he changed Facebook’s algorithm to deliberately throttle traffic to left-wing alternative news sites, even those as mainstream as Mother Jones. MintPress News was similarly negatively affected.

One reason to be skeptical of greater censorship of Facebook to fight fake news is that the Atlantic Council itself is perhaps the chief driver of one of the modern era’s most prominent conspiracy theories: that of RussiaGate.

Samantha Power speaks at the Atlantic Council to warn of a “Russian Threat” in January of 2017. Victoria Langton | Atlantic Council

The extent of Moscow’s involvement in domestic affairs can be debated, but the Atlantic Council has produced report after report making outlandish, unverified assertions, including that virtually every non-establishment political party in Europe, from Labour and UKIP in the UK, Podemos in Spain, Syriza and Golden Dawn in Greece, and the Five Star Movement in Italy are all secretly the “Kremlin’s Trojan Horses” — under the personal thumb of Vladimir Putin.

As part of Obama’s National Security Council, Power herself strongly pushed for war in Libya, which was sold to Americans on the claim that Colonel Gaddafi was giving his troops Viagra to encourage mass rapes. No evidence was presented for such a remarkable claim. Even after the destruction caused, turning the country into a failed state with active slave markets, Power praised her government’s response for “[helping] orchestrate the fastest and broadest international response to an impending human rights crisis in history,” brushing off criticism of the country’s current state by claiming that she, “could hardly expect to have a crystal ball when it came to accurately predicting outcomes in places where the culture was not our own.” She also supported the U.S. bombing of Syria on grounds now proven incorrect. Thus, misinformation merchants are themselves calling for restrictions on conspiracy theories online.

While Facebook is undoubtedly flooded with conspiracy theories and other types of fake news, the term is a loaded one that means very different things to different people. While readers might associate “conspiracy theories” with ideas about the Moon landing, aliens or various political assassinations, the establishment often uses it in an altogether different context. An example of this comes from an article on conspiracies from The Guardian, the most liberal of the United Kingdom’s major newspapers. The outlet claimed that the statement that, “even though we live in what’s called a democracy, a few people will always run things in this country anyway” was a conspiracy theory, comparing it to the neo-Nazi white genocide myth. Thus, to many at the top of society, basic scrutiny of the rich and powerful on the grounds of their class is akin to lurid fantasies about an attempt to destroy the white race.

US Commander: Troops Can Be Sent to Defend Senkaku Islands

Comments made at the start of major joint US-Japan naval drills

Adding to tensions in the Pacific between the US and China, the head of US forces in Japan said on Monday that US troops could be sent to defend the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea. The islands, known as Diaoyus in China, are at the center of a maritime dispute between Tokyo and Beijing.

“Our arrival today was simply to demonstrate the ability to move a few people but the same capability could be used to deploy combat troops to defend the Senkaku Islands or respond to other crisis and contingencies,” Lt. Gen. Kevin Schneider said. The commander also rattled off a list of what he called “malign activities” by Beijing in the region.

Schneider made the comments from the deck of a Japanese destroyer in waters south of Japan, kicking off Keen Sword 21, a massive naval exercise conducted jointly by the US and Japan. The 10-day military exercises are held every other year. This year’s drills will involve 9,000 US troops, about 37,000 Japanese troops, and 20 ships and 170 aircraft.

A military confrontation between Japan and China over the Senkakus could draw in the US due to a mutual defense treaty between Washington and Tokyo.

China’s Top Censor Orders Another Crackdown On Dissent

While Facebook readies emergency measures to halt the spread of viral election day misinformation, contributing to a bout of social media hysteria that is starting to feel vaguely reminiscent of the perturbation that preceded Y2K, the censors over in Beijing are as busy as ever.

Reuters reports that China’s “top cyber authority” has declared that it will carry out a “rectification” of China’s mobile internet browsers. The campaign is a response to concerns about “chaos” in terms of information being shared online.

Doesn’t sound too different from what’s happening over at Twitter and Facebook. But we digress.

Anyway, the Cyberspace Administration of China, or CAC – the regulator in question – has told mobile browser owners that they have until Nov. 9 to finish a “self examination” (sounds fun) and rectify any previously unaddressed “problems.”

Some suspect that President Trump’s attacks on China, combined with the pro-independence party that continues to rule Taiwan and the pro-democracy protests that preceded a wave of street violence in Hong Kong last year, may push President Xi to drastic action to assert China’s dominance once and for all. If accurate, than this would be only the latest example of China cracking down on what has been an unprecedented year for that, with all that has happened in Hong Kong.

But circling back to the mainland, browsers will need to upgrade their censorship tools surrounding sensationalist headlines and “rumors” spread online. We wonder how they plan on accomplishing all this?

“For some time, mobile browsers have grown in an uncivilised way…and have become a gathering place and amplifier for dissemination of chaos by ‘self-media’,” the CAC said, referring to independently operated social media accounts, many of which publish news.

“After the rectification, mobile browsers that still have outstanding problems will be dealt with strictly according to laws and regulations until related businesses are banned.”

The campaign is focusing on eight of the most widely used mobile browsers in China, including those operated by Huawei, Alibaba’s UCWeb and Xiaomi, also a major smartphone manufacturer. Others include the QQ platform owned by Tencent, Qihoo-owned 360, Oppo and Sogou.

It’s just the latest reminder that economic engagement in China hasn’t improved political freedoms in China one bit since Mao Zedong’s death.

EU warns Turkey, membership of bloc at risk as rift with France deepens

The European Union Commission warned that Turkish membership of the bloc is further away than ever in light of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s calls for a boycott of French goods after the country’s president said he supports the publication of insulting cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), France24 reported.

“Calls for a boycott of products of any member state are contrary to the spirit of these obligations and will take Turkey even further away from the European Union,” European Union Commission spokesperson said.

On Monday, Erdogan called for Turks to boycott French goods and urged European Union leaders to halt French leader Emmanuel Macron’s “anti-Islam” agenda.

In response to Erdogan’s remarks, France pulled its ambassador from Turkey on Saturday, condemning the Turkish president’s “excess and rudeness”.

The French government’s crackdown on the French Muslim community and its insistence on publishing the cartoons have been seen as insulting by many Muslims around the world and has prompted calls for a boycott of French products and brands.

Last week, Macron pledged to fight “Islamist separatism”, saying it was threatening to take over some Muslim communities in France.

The French Embassy in Turkey has since issued a warning to its citizens to remain vigilant and avoid public places.

En raison du contexte local et international, il est recommandé aux Français résidant ou de passage en Turquie de faire preuve d'une très grande vigilance dans le cadre de leurs déplacements et notamment d'éviter tout rassemblement ou manifestation dans des lieux publics.

The Border Patrol Is Monitoring Millions Of Americans' Cellphones Inside Their Homes

The Feds are using the pandemic as an excuse to ID and track millions of innocent Americans' cellphones inside their homes.

This past August, a Motherboard article revealed the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) had signed a $476,000 contract with Venntel, a cellphone data mining corporation.

Motherboard went on to explain why the Feds signing a contract with Venntel is so troubling.

"The news highlights how law enforcement agencies continue to buy data that may in some cases require a warrant or court order to obtain."

What Motherboard is saying is that the CBP is using Venntel to monitor Americans' cellphones without a warrant.

"This new contract raises even more concerns about the cozy and ongoing relationship between the federal government and these data brokers, which operate in the shadows and can amass mountains of sensitive personal data without any restrictions," Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, and Chairwoman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform said.

What makes this even more disconcerting is how law enforcement can use Venntel to monitor every cellphone in a 'certain house.'

"If you search a certain house, you're only going to get three or four different signals out of there. I think from that standpoint, you could definitely try and identify specific people, the first [Venntel] source said. I think that was part of the goal in using it for government customers and things like that, is that you're able to identify devices, and then you can do device searches to see where else they might have been, they added. A second person who has worked with the company [Venntel] said the data in a geofenced area is not going to contain 100 percent of devices in that location, and that identifying someone would be laborious."

Five U.S. senators were so horrified about law enforcement secretly monitoring millions of innocent Americans' cellphones that they sent a letter to the CBP demanding an explanation.

"As revealed by public contracts, CBP has paid a government contractor named Venntel nearly half a million dollars for access to a commercial database containing location data mined from applications on millions of Americans’ mobile phones. CBP officials also confirmed the agency’s warrantless tracking of phones in the United States using Venntel’s product in a September 16, 2020 call with Senate staff."

The letter asked what legal analysis did the Feds use to justify creating a national cellphone location tracking program?

"The senators also requested the inspector general investigate any legal analysis CBP’s lawyers performed before the agency started to use this surveillance tool and how CBP was able to begin operational use of Venntel’s location database without the DHS Privacy Office first publishing a Privacy Impact Assessment."

It is hard to imagine a more invasive national public surveillance program than what the CBP is conducting right now under our very noses.

McConnell and Schumer's relationship shredded after court brawl

The relationship between Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) has hit a new low after the bitter fight over newly sworn in Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

The rancorous nature of their relationship was on full display Monday evening, moments before the Senate voted to confirm Barrett along party lines, when Schumer declared it would “go down as one of the darkest days in the 231-year history of the Senate.”

The deterioration of their relationship in recent months, a tense election year when control of the Senate in 2021 is at stake, raises questions about their ability to work together in the future and whether Democrats will change the chamber’s rules once in power to circumvent McConnell entirely.

A growing number of Democrats are pushing for Schumer to eliminate the legislative filibuster if they win the Senate majority.

Schumer on Monday slammed McConnell personally, accusing him of hypocrisy and lying. He also offered a chilling warning of what Republicans might expect if Democrats win back control of the Senate on Nov. 3.

“The next time the American people give Democrats a majority in this chamber, you will have forfeited the right to tell us how to run that majority,” he said. “I know you think that this will eventually blow over. But you are wrong.”

“My colleagues may regret this for a lot longer than they think,” he later added.

When it was McConnell’s turn to speak, instead of basking in the glow of a major Republican victory, he spent much of his speech laying into Schumer.

The GOP leader dismissed Schumer’s allegations of impropriety as “outlandish” and “utterly absurd.”

He also got down to a personal level, accusing Schumer of threatening conservative justices on the court. McConnell noted that earlier this year at a rally outside the high court, Schumer said President Trump’s appointed Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh would “pay the price” for rolling back abortion rights.

Schumer, walking out of the Senate after the vote Monday evening, told reporters: “I have two words for McConnell’s speech: very defensive.”

Developer may disclose data on Sputnik V trials due to infections among volunteers

This requires relevant amendments to the legislation, according to the Gamaleya National Research Center director

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. The developer of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus, the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Healthcare Ministry, is considering the possibility of disclosing the data on who of the volunteers was administered the vaccine, and who - a placebo in mid-November, before summing up the results of the study. According to the Center’s Director Alexander Gintsburg, this is due to the instances of infection among volunteers.

First component of Sputnik V received by 19,000 people in Moscow Region

Earlier, Deputy Research Director of the Gamaleya National Research Center, Associate Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Denis Logunov reported that trial participants will find out whether they received the vaccine or the placebo only after the end of tests. The Center’s director reported that the last group of volunteers out of the total of 40,000 may be inoculated by the end of January 2021.

"Everything proceeds as planned, apparently, there are [coronavirus] infections [among the post-registration trials participants]. At some point in mid-November the provisional results will be summed up, then we will find out the difference between the placebo and the test samples," the Center’s director told TASS.

In response to a question on how the results can be obtained before the end of the study if the data can be disclosed only after its completion, the director said that currently the Center is thinking of introducing relevant amendments to the legislation. "Subsequently, we are now thinking, we would like to do this [obtain the results - TASS] earlier in order to get the idea of what is going on. However, if the regulators don’t allow it, then you’re right, we will have to wait until the entire procedure is completed. If an amendment is introduced, then as a certain number of infections emerges in the course of the experiment it will be possible to go public with the results. The amendment hasn’t been introduced yet. We are thinking about it," the scientist explained. "This practice exists abroad - they introduce amendments. Although the final word is with the [Healthcare] Ministry," he added.

The Empire Has Collapsed

Paul Craig Roberts

The Saker has written another interesting article in which he gives us the date of the collapse of the AngloZionist or American Empire: January 3, 2020, the day when Washington did not retaliate against Iran for Iran’s retaliation against Washington for murdering General Qasem Soleimani.

You can read The Saker’s case and make up your mind: https://thesaker.is/when-exactly-did-the-anglozionist-empire-collapse/

An equally good case could be made that the American Empire collapsed on September 11, 2001. This was the day that two symbols of American power—the World Trade Center and the Pentagon—were successfully attacked, according to the US government itself, by an old and dying Osama bin Laden and a handful of Saudi Arabians armed with box cutters. This unlikely group was able, according to Washington, to overcome the entire intelligence networks of the United States, NATO, and Israel’s Mossad, and deliver the most humiliating blow ever suffered by a ruling Superpower.

It was the day when nothing in the National Security State worked. US Airport Security failed four times on the same morning, allowing four US airliners to be hijacked. The US Air Force was unable to put fighters in the air to intercept the hijacked airliners, and two of them were flown into the World Trade Center towers and one into the Pentagon itself, while the Great Superpower was unable to defend itself from an old man in a cave in Afghanistan and a handful of young Saudis.

September 11, 2001, was the day that the world realized that the emperor had no clothes. If Osama bin Laden and a handful of Saudis could defeat the United States, anyone could.

I think The Saker is wrong about Donald Trump. Trump wanted to save American influence by ceasing its fruitless attempts to impose hegemony on the world. Trump wanted to bring the US soldiers home from the Middle East and to normalize relations with Russia. This was a major threat to the power and budget of the military/security complex and to the zionist neoconservatives’ desire to use American military power to make the Middle East into Greater Israel. If 9/11 did not end the American empire, the attack on President Trump from within the government did. The internal demonization of the American president called to mind the internal conflicts that destroyed the Roman Empire.

I agree with The Saker that the Empire is finished. Even if Trump wins and manages to be inaugurated, what can he do? He faces the same powerful forces that stymied his first term. If the crook Biden and the anti-white racist Kamala win, The Camp of the Saints will continue to unfold in the US as the majority white population is demonized, its memorials and history erased, and its power exterminated.

No white American will fight for a government that has demonized him, torn down his statues, and erased his people’s history. An army of feminists, transgendered, Hispanic immigrants, disaffected blacks, and displaced Muslims will not fare well against Russian, Chinese, and Iranian forces. Such a collection is not imbued with pride of country, a requirement for a fighting force.

More than the empire is dead. The country itself is dead.

Trump is trying to resurrect America, but are the people too far gone to respond? We will soon know.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey falsely tells senators company lifted ban on Post exposé

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Wednesday falsely told senators that his company lifted a ban on users tweeting articles from The Post’s Hunter Biden exposé, despite the fact that the ban remained on one of The Post’s bombshell stories and was only lifted after he made the claim.

“Anyone can tweet these articles,” Dorsey told Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) about The Post’s articles on emails implicating Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in his son’s work in China and Ukraine.

But Twitter users quickly noted that the social network still banned distribution of The Post’s article describing a business proposal in China involving Hunter Biden and a document indicating a 10 percent set-aside for “the big guy.”

“Jack Dorsey of Twitter just told Senator Cruz that anyone could now share the NY Post’s bombshell stories on Twitter. Dorsey is lying,” tweeted Abigail Marone, a rapid response official on President Trump’s re-election campaign, linking to a screen recording of the app blocking the post.

“Twitter is STILL blocking the URL for the NY Post story about the Biden’s foreign corruption & China dealings,” Marone wrote in a tweet shared by White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on her personal account.

Users were not able to share a link to the article on the proposed China business deal up until just hours ago, which last week was corroborated by former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski.

“Something went wrong, but don’t fret — let’s give it another shot,” an error message informed Twitter users.

Twitter said of the article: “We can’t complete this request because this link has been identified by Twitter or our partners as being potentially harmful. Visit our Help Center to learn more.”

Dorsey claimed repeatedly in his testimony that Twitter had lifted its ban on sharing The Post’s articles, which Twitter initially censored under a “Hacked Materials” policy, despite no evidence the records were hacked.

“Our team made a fast decision. The enforcement action, however, of blocking URLs, both in tweets and in DM direct messages we believe was incorrect and we changed it,” Dorsey claimed.

Cruz interrogated: “You’re still blocking. You’re still blocking their posts, right now today you’re blocking their posts.”

Trump rails against Twitter as CEO struggles to defend Post censorship

President Trump took to Twitter Wednesday to slam the social media platform, as its CEO — along with the heads of Google and Facebook — faces a drubbing from a Senate panel primarily addressing the censorship of The Post’s Hunter Biden exposé.

“It’s amazing. Twitter refuses to allow the any mention of the Biden corruption story which was carried so well on @TuckerCarlson last night. It’s the biggest story and Big Tech, together with the Lamestream Media, isn’t allowing a word to be said about it,” the commander-in-chief tweeted late Wednesday morning during the hearing.

It is unclear what specific comment the president was responding to.

As the hearings continued, the commander-in-chief offered his thoughts on corruption in Big Tech.

“The USA doesn’t have Freedom of the Press, we have Suppression of the Story, or just plain Fake News. So much has been learned in the last two weeks about how corrupt our Media is, and now Big Tech, maybe even worse. Repeal Section 230!” he wrote in his second of three tweets on the matter.

“Media and Big Tech are not covering Biden Corruption!” he added minutes later.

Trump has previously accused Twitter and Facebook of interfering in the election by censoring The Post’s reporting.

In an interview with the Sinclair Broadcast Group, Trump said the tech companies were “trying to protect” Hunter Biden’s father, Joe Biden, Trump’s Democratic presidential challenger, but “they got caught and that’s turning out to be just as big a story.”

Asked if it constitutes election interference, Trump said, “Yeah, 100 percent.”

Southern Poverty Law Center Releases Guide for Managing ‘White Fragility’

The Southern Poverty Law Center released a free instructional guide for teachers seeking to "manage their white fragility."

The guidelines, published by SPLC's "Teaching Tolerance" division, claim that educators of color are often "burdened" by anti-racist work because their white colleagues turn a blind eye to discrimination.

"We know we all live in the same society of racism and white supremacy," the guidelines read. "We know white educators have the privilege to ignore these conditions and often do.… While all educators of color carry the burden of white supremacy, Black teachers have even more weight placed on them."

The material encourages educators to follow anti-racist Twitter activists and to shun other teachers, faculty, and students who refuse "anti-bias, anti-racist" training, even if parents complain and staff members leave.

Anna Miller, an education policy analyst at the Idaho Freedom Foundation, told the Washington Free Beacon that such trainings will persuade some parents to pull their children from public schools.

"Families will surely exit the system as public schools increasingly mandate anti-racist, anti-bias reeducation and teach children to hate their country," Miller said. "Many poor and middle-class students, however, will remain trapped in a debased system void of educational value."

Teaching Tolerance has already developed "social justice" curricula that recommend restructuring history and social-studies classes to emphasize slavery, designing those lesson plans for students as young as kindergartners.

The group's new guidelines come as similar companies are raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in anti-racist consultancy fees. In Virginia's Loudoun County, the school district spent $422,500 on equity and diversity training in less than two years.

Teaching Tolerance also works with the Black Lives Matter at School group, which advocates "funding counselors not cops." The BLM at School website cites a quotation by domestic terrorist Assata Shakur, who remains on the FBI's "Most Wanted" list. Teaching Tolerance encourages educators to incorporate BLM at School resources into their lesson plans.

Miller told the Free Beacon that such partnerships exist to push a political doctrine on students and teachers, not to allow for free and open thought in the classroom.

"If black lives really matter to today's institutions, as they should, there would be no greater purpose than cultivating students' minds instead of demanding acquiescence to a corrupt political cause," Miller said.

The SPLC guidelines conclude by calling on all educators to unlearn "anti-blackness."

"Anti-blackness is something that we have learned over the course of our lives," the guidelines read. "Unlearning will take a lot of introspection and conversation."

US tech at risk of falling behind, threatening our global interests

Technology and technological advancement have become increasingly important in the day-to-day lives of Americans, especially during the global pandemic. That’s why it is more critical than ever to protect America’s technological advantage against threats from foreign adversaries whose interests do not align with our own when it comes to privacy, national security, and a free and open internet.

For years, the United States has been viewed as the authority on technological innovation, but according to a new poll from the American Edge Project and Ipsos, a large number of American voters believe the U.S. is in danger of falling behind foreign adversaries in this space, and that countries — namely China, Russia, and Iran — represent a threat to American competitiveness and technological leadership.

According to the poll, the vast majority of voters (81 percent) view it as dangerous for the U.S. to fall behind other countries when it comes to technology, and 71 percent believe the Defense Department, too, will fall behind its rivals if it does not leverage technological innovations from domestic tech companies. With the upcoming elections, concerns about cyberattacks have also grown, with 80 percent of voters noting their concern about an attack on our critical infrastructures.

These sentiments reflect an unavoidable truth: Foreign interests have been moving aggressively into American and global markets through platforms that collect and misuse user data and eschew privacy. These same interests are making large investments in technological research and development, intensifying the battle for global tech leadership, and threatening the strength of the United States' national security and its position on the global stage. What’s more, U.S. intelligence officials recently discovered hacks by Russia into state and local computer networks that could allow broader access to America’s voting infrastructure. These officials have pieced together details of Russia’s potential plans to interfere in the presidential race in its final days.

Why is this so dangerous? Despite the obvious threat to U.S. election security, the nations that threaten to usurp our tech dominance, China, Russia, and Iran, do not hold the same uniquely American values that keep our internet free and open. These nations, and others, instead use the internet to suppress voices, discriminate against minorities and spy on their citizens.

California ruling forces ICE to release criminal aliens from detention in Adelanto

WASHINGTON — Due to an order from the Central District of California, and despite requests to transfer detainees to alternative locations, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has complied with the mandated reduction to the overall detainee population at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in Adelanto, California, which has resulted in the release of dangerous criminal aliens into various communities.

Pursuant to the court’s order, Adelanto, which is maintained by a federal contractor, released more than 250 criminal aliens back into communities – a decision the agency continues to warn could lead to unnecessary victimization by recidivist criminals. The forced reduction is now complete and the current population at the facility is approximately 465.

“While opponents who continuously seek to discredit the agency might otherwise mislead the public to believe that those in detention pose no risk to public safety, nothing could be further from the truth,” said ICE’s Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Tony H. Pham. “ICE has complied with this overreaching court order; however, the public should know that the ruling undoubtedly places them at greater risk.”

Prior to the reduction, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Los Angeles assessed that among the roughly 730 aliens detained at Adelanto, more than 85 percent had pending criminal charges and/or convictions. Among those ordered released, more than 60 had final orders of removal by federal immigration judges. The criminal histories of those released included, but was not limited to: assault with a deadly weapon, battery, child cruelty, contempt/violating a protected order, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, driving without a license, driving under the influence (DUI), false imprisonment, fraud, hit and run, grand theft, obstructing a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, prostitution, sexual offenses (including lewd/lascivious acts with a child), weapons violations, and the federal offense of illegal reentry after removal.

The agency does not exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement. All those in violation of immigration law may be subject to arrest, detention and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States. ICE takes many factors into account when targeting and arresting individuals, including their criminal and immigration history.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Wednesday the results of a five-day targeted enforcement operation that resulted in the apprehension of more than 100 at-large aliens in communities spanning from the country’s northern to southwest borders.

ICE officers in Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Michigan and Texas, conducted the enforcement actions Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, focusing on aliens subject to removal who pose a threat to public safety. More than 70% of aliens arrested had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges at the time of arrest.

“Every day, ICE officers protect our communities from the cross-border crime and illegal immigration that threaten public safety,” said ICE Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Tony H. Pham. “These targeted enforcement actions highlight ICE’s vital role in keeping our communities safe.”

Among those ICE arrested during the enforcement actions were:

‘Moderate’ Conor Lamb Votes With Far-Left ‘Squad’ Almost 90 Percent of the Time

First-term representative Conor Lamb (D., Pa.) portrays himself as a moderate in his competitive Pennsylvania district. Yet he votes with members of the far-left "Squad" almost 90 percent of the time.

In his first two years since entering Congress, Lamb has voted with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) 88 percent of the time, Reps. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) 89 percent of the time, and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D., Mass.) 90 percent of the time, according to a vote tracking tool from ProPublica. Lamb's positions have garnered him endorsements from numerous left-wing groups, including Everytown for Gun Safety, Feminist Majority PAC, and JStreetPAC. All this belies the centrist image he projects to Pennsylvania's 17th Congressional District, where Lamb is locked in a tight race against Republican Sean Parnell.

Lamb has publicly distanced himself from the far left on certain issues, especially the environment. He opposes the Green New Deal, which is highly unpopular in his district, and has gone against calls from Ocasio-Cortez to end fracking, a major industry in Western Pennsylvania. Liberal strategists and media alike have thus treated him as a model for Democrats running in tough races. "This moderate Democrat's model is being copied where it matters—in Trump territory," reads a headline from McClatchy in 2018. "Conor Lamb proves running as a moderate is a winning strategy," the Hill wrote that same year.

But Lamb's record tells a different story. He boasts a 100 percent rating from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and a 93 percent rating from the Human Rights Campaign. Lamb also landed an endorsement from the gun-control group Everytown for Gun Safety while getting an "F" rating from the NRA's Political Victory Fund. His campaign has hauled in thousands from far-left groups, including End Citizens United, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and Service Employees International Union.

"When you watch Conor Lamb on the campaign trail, in interviews, and in debates it's tough not to be reminded of one of those androids from the Alien movies," said Parnell campaign spokesman Ian Prior. "He has the slick, phony, programmed persona down to perfection when he's campaigning in Western Pennsylvania, but then when he gets back to Washington, D.C., he falls in line with his radical programmers and supports packing the courts, packing the Senate, and will ultimately roll over for the far-left special interests so he can get his next job at a high paying lobbying firm to end natural gas."

Google and Apple conspire in secret pact to control the Internet

Google is a behemoth, controlling as much as 92% of internet web searches worldwide.

Finally, on October 20, 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and 11 states filed a lawsuit against Google for violating anti-trust laws — the U.S. government’s biggest antitrust case in two decades.

It is noteworthy that all 11 states are red states in the 2016 presidential election: Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, and Texas. The other states must not care about Google being a monopoly that stifles and impedes competition.

As one of the wealthiest companies on the planet with a market value of $1 trillion, Google is the monopoly gatekeeper to the internet for billions of users and countless advertisers worldwide. For years, Google has accounted for almost 90 percent of all search queries in the United States and has used anticompetitive tactics to maintain and extend its monopolies in search and search advertising.

As alleged in the Complaint, Google has entered into a series of exclusionary agreements that collectively lock up the primary avenues through which users access search engines, and thus the internet, by requiring that Google be set as the preset default general search engine on billions of mobile devices and computers worldwide and, in many cases, prohibiting preinstallation of a competitor….

The Complaint alleges that Google’s anticompetitive practices have had harmful effects on competition and consumers. Google has foreclosed any meaningful search competitor from gaining vital distribution and scale, eliminating competition for a majority of search queries in the United States. By restricting competition in search, Google’s conduct has harmed consumers by reducing the quality of search (including on dimensions such as privacy, data protection, and use of consumer data), lessening choice in search, and impeding innovation. By suppressing competition in advertising, Google has the power to charge advertisers more than it could in a competitive market and to reduce the quality of the services it provides them. Through filing the lawsuit, the Department seeks to stop Google’s anticompetitive conduct and restore competition for American consumers, advertisers, and all companies now reliant on the internet economy.

In particular, the DOJ’s antitrust lawsuit targets a secret deal between Google and Apple, worth billions of dollars to both companies, by making Google the primary search engine on Apple’s devices.

If the deal between Google and Apple were legitimate, there would be no need for secrecy.

=The China-Praising Fauci Emails

“Why praise them if you don’t know what was going on.. why would we believe anything that the Chinese Communist Government would be telling us?” – Fitton remarked in last week’s Weekly Update.

Representing the Daily Caller News Foundation, Judicial Watch has recently secured the release of 300 pages of emails exchanged between the NIH, Dr. Fauci, and the WHO. These documents, which were originally stonewalled by the federal government, were released late last week. According to Fitton, they point to the fact that “the collective concern was about praising China’s role. It helps explain why they didn’t want to turn over this document.” Apparently praising China for it’s management of the COVID-19 outbreak, Fitton believes “they [Fauci, and the NIH] didn’t see it as the contagion that we’ve since come to learn it was.”

“They didn’t know about it, probably because the Chinese weren’t telling them about it,” Fitton continued. In reference to the response of both Dr. Fauci and NIH officials in correspondence with the WHO, Fitton stated “if you’re dealing with the Chinese Community Government you should be skeptical of them, and just presume that they’re lying about everything… why would we believe anything that the Chinese Communist Government would be telling us?”

With only 300 pages released of over 4,000 – Fitton believes that at the current rate, these documents won’t be fully available until 2022. He continued in stating:

“It is exceedingly frustrating that agencies nominally run by the POTUS continue to withhold information, and I’m convinced that they withhold information because it could be seen to be helpful to him. The president should just order the release of every document they have.”

Biden family scandal: Seven uncomfortable realities confronting the Democrat nominee

It's not the Russians exposing Joe Biden, it's his son's former business partners.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has offered short, at times, halting defenses of his son Hunter's business deals in recent weeks after months of ignoring an increasingly clear narrative of a family member pursuing lucrative business deals in the shadows of his vice presidency.

"Not one single solitary thing was out of line," Biden said last Thursday when the questions about his son's business dealings came up at the last presidential debate. "Not a single thing."

"My son has not made money in terms of this thing, about what are you talking about, China," Biden said. "I have not had, the only guy that's made money from China is this guy," he added, point to Donald Trump.

Other times he and his defenders have rebuffed questions about the family business as a "smear job" or "Russian disinformation." But Biden's campaign hasn't disputed much of the evidence that has become public, instead declaring it doesn't matter because no crimes have been proven.

"Investigations by the press, during impeachment, and even by two Republican-led Senate committees whose work was decried as 'not legitimate' and political by a GOP colleague, have all reached the same conclusion: that Joe Biden carried out official US policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing," a campaign spokesman said recently.

But criminality isn't the only standard by which Americans evaluate their leaders. Judgment, ethics and transparency are also essential attributes.

On such, the Biden campaign has not yet explained or confronted these seven uncomfortable realities, many which have emerged not from Russian disinformation but rather from former associates of Hunter Biden and former government subordinates of the vice president.
