I'm not an expert on this, but ISTR that the interdiction begins with an attempt to communicate via radio. Things can happen fast up there, so I imagine that by the time the F-16 ejected flares, small plane pilot was close to joining his ancestors.
On the bright side, he probably won't need to shit for a couple days and might not need to worry about renewing his license, either.
