IT anon here ..

The problem is not that Indian H1-B immigrants are cheaper than American labor.

The real issue is that immigrant workers 1) are not cheap and 2) DO NOT provide the same quality of engineering work than the folks they replaced .

Immigrant IT is not cheaper:

I've worked gigs were you'd typically need 2-3 seasoned Americans to do the work.

Instead, 2-3 Americans have been replaced by 20-25 Indian immigrants. And they still need lots of help as none of these immigrants have ever done the work! And due to this, IT projects either fail outright or take months or years longer than they would otherwise and the costs go up.

This is not cheap labor. This is an outright replacement of Americans at ANY cost.

And where a seasoned American worker would get something fixed… how long does it take 20-25 unskilled IT Indian immigrants to fix something ?? FOREVER. I've seen $multi-million IT contracts go sideways for 12 months or more because of these wholesale American replacement schemes.

It's fraudulent and MORE EXPENSIVE.

I could drop names and specifics of many multi-billion dollar companies that you would think are mostly American but are ,unfortunately, completely foreign in their IT departments.

This includes federal IT depts .

And they could care less about our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Indians have a social based caste system . And they do implement that crap here.

Lastly, it takes decades under a certain value system to reap the rewards of that scheme.

If you outsource German engineering, do you expect to get the same quality product ? No. Same goes for American exceptionalism. And it explains why no one likes off shore call centers, walmart junk from china, or this endless disposable product cycle where nothing lasts more than a couple years.

There's a reason why we treasure quality products and services . They are built from the values inherent in the people that provide them. You can't import high quality from third world values. Sorry.
