MAGGIE NIXONS CALL FOR HELP?

Hii!!!

My name is Maggie and I'm 17 years old currently spending my days in an intensive outpatient program for severe depression, self harm, and many other personal issues. This program lasts for 6 months and I am scheduled to graduate in June as well! Balancing getting my credits to graduate high school and working through my struggles has proven to be incredibly difficult, but I'm trying! Once I am done with the program I will not be attending college right away. My dream is to travel, help people, work on my music and as cliché as it sounds… find myself. I hope that this doesn't come across as me using my mentall illness to my advantage to get a chance to relax on the beach and eat Thai food! Honestly, I need this to complete my theraputic journey. By helping people, I believe I will be able to help myself in a new way. I have always been incredibly active in community service and helping the less fortunate, and I really would love the opportunity to be able to do that in another part of the world, one where I believe I will grow and thrive as well. The reason that I'm asking for $7,000 is 20% to pay for airfair, living space, and food… but 80% of the money will be put towards the communities I will be travelling (by bus and boat) through. My goal here is to better myself while I better other people, and I wish it didn't have to revolve around money… But I really need YOUR help to make this dream a reality. Every dollar helps, and I hope that you can help me get to Thailand and change peoples lives while I change mine. Thank you so much, this would mean the absolute world to me. After graduating with a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design, Jennifer became a successful fashion designer, selling her clothing across the country. Several years later, she no longer felt committed to clothing design, so she moved on to study photography and showed her work at many exhibitions.

In 2005 she discovered Visual Journaling, which combines imagery and text in the form of a book. She took this opportunity to explore her internal world. That practice led to produce many journals. Her new work takes inspiration from those journals and brings the ideas onto paper, fabric and embroidery.

Her studio is in New York City, where she lives with her husband.
