That includes, unfortunately, the economy, which suffers from high unemployment and the highest child poverty rate in Spain. But while some regions might rely on building a tech industry or boosting tourism to recover, the Canaries have created a different lure: low taxes. Very low.

Indeed, looking to places like the British Cayman Islands and Switzerland, the Canaries (despite its population of just 2.1 million people) are hoping to unseat Ireland, Europe’s best-known mecca for corporations with allergies to taxes.

After the latest reform, however, the so-called special economic zone (SEZ) is free game for everyone. According to Beatriz Barrera, president of the Canary Islands SEZ, the low-tax haven has already attracted more than 425 companies, about a third of which are foreign.

Shelter your wealth in the Canary islands

The clock is ticking on tax havens – so why not keep your cash somewhere tax-friendly, but onshore?

Never Forget.

<-- Shackleton - Blood On My Hands

(Ricardo Villalobos Apocalypso Now Mix)

(8:58)

“When I see the towers fall,

It cannot be denied that,

As a spectacle,

It is a realisation of the mind.

You see, I'm standing on a mountain top

And letting out a scream,

It's the language of the earth,

It is the language of the beasts.

There's no point to look behind us,

We left the corpse behind,

Because flesh is weak and forms break down.

They cannot last forever."

Also recently worked for New Times. Nice promotion.

5.19.15 – The New Times’ Kyle Swenson couldn’t confirm any of Jules resume. That’s just one problem.

Jules doesn’t even appear to know whether he is a Democrat or a write-in candidate, since he signed papers with elections office indicating he is both.

It smacks of a poorly planned political dirty trick by Sheriff Scott Israel’s enemies.

Jules' a clown ringer to make sure SSI was re-elected?

It would be fun to turn the tables on the Fame Game for a bit.

Critical that this board remains ahead of the curve though, and not the other way around.

In recent times the hunts have also played a role, albeit unwitting, in the United States’s war against Al Qaeda.

Osama bin Laden took refuge at a houbara hunting camp in western Afghanistan in the late 1990s, by several accounts, at a time when the C.I.A. was plotting to assassinate him with a missile strike.

The journalist Steve Coll wrote in his Pulitzer Prize-winning book, "Ghost Wars," that American officials declined to take the shot, fearing that the Arab sheikh who was hosting Bin Laden would have been at risk of dying in the attack.

The deserts around Dalbandin, where Prince Fahd landed on Wednesday, were the site of Pakistan’s first nuclear test explosion in 1998, and are an established way station for heroin smugglers and Taliban insurgents.

“Follow the falcon, find the terrorist,” says Thorkell Hardarson, the co-director of the documentary “Feathered Cocaine.” He, along with Marino Arnarson, look at the practice of falcon smuggling around the world before surprisingly veering into a discussion of Osama bin Laden and the C.I.A.
