US Anon,
You are right! While there are those of us who are awake, who have supported President Trump and who are trying wake people up to change things for the better in this country, it has been very difficult here.
The division is huge. Here in the west (esp Alberta and Saskatchewan) we are being destroyed by the government elected by the east–they need to destroy us in order to further their plans here. The movement toward separation is growing and I honestly think it will continue to grow. It is clear that the political differences between east and west are huge and are unlikely to be bridged. In the west, we share the can do and get 'er done attitude with the US. We work hard here and we contribute a lot to this country. We are fighting, but unlike in the US, we have a very small group and region trying to fight against the significantly larger group / region that controls everything. Protests are happening, but they are not for our country, they are happening for the regions and the people in those regions. We are not a cohesive country. To say patriotism here pales in comparison to that in the USA would be an understatement. I wish we showed as much pride and love for our country as Americans do.
It is sad but for the most part Canadians are complacent–so many pay little attention to what is going on in this world and/or follow like sheep without any critical thought. Heaven forbid that their comforts be removed.
So USAnon, you are absolutely correct. Americans have been pulling beyond their weight in this and the rest of us around the world need to get off our asses and help. This is not just an American problem–this is a global problem. I wish we had someone to stand up for like you do with President Trump. Because we don't, many of us here stand up for him too. There is no one like President Trump in Canada.
I am beyond disgusted so many of our politicians offered congratulations to Biden. It is looking more and more that our entire political establishment is deep state.
We absolutely need patriotism in this country. We need to stop expecting our country to do everything for us and, instead, ask what we can do for our country. Until this changes I feel there is little, if any, chance for Canada to survive.
