I'm not saying no authority.
The one in the Vatican today, is obsolete, and not only that, but destructive.
There is one authority-to-be. We haven't known that yet.

The Bible gives authority according to time periods.
The time for that of Rome is long past.
The time for the authority of the Protestant church is also now past.
The lack of authority for the church is also seen in the dysfunction of all its offices.
There are no real apostles, prophets or message carriers (evangelists).
The teachers and pastors, thereby, have no direction.
The CC will not be changed from within, nor by democratic vote of parishoners.
It will be replaced from outside by a competing, alternative organization that fulfills the purposes it has long abandoned.
If you look for the real fulfillment of the purposes of the church offices today in the world, you will find that is already taking place elementally.
>tradition is important in understanding the bible
One of the traditions taught in the Bible is when Paul set up shop teaching in a room "on the same grounds" as the former church (temple) because they could not change from within.
