DOD contract.

Palantir was accused by the Holder DOJ of discriminatory hiring practices because the number of non-whites hired was inconsistent with the number of non-white applicants.

In reality, non-white in this case meant Asian. And the reason they weren't being hired is because they couldn't pass the DOD-mandated background check. (Think a whole bunch of Chinese people…ooo, they failed the background check? Color me shocked…)

So, private in name only in this case.
