Jesus Christ Is Now Officially the King of Poland

After a vote in the Polish parliament in April, Our Lord Jesus Christ was officially crowned the king of Poland last weekend. You might think you've accidentally landed on a fake news site, but you didn't. It's true, Jesus really does rule Poland now. The idea originally came from a young nurse, who in the early 1900s had a vision that foresaw Poland's imminent demise if Jesus Christ would not be crowned its king. The idea was initially dismissed by the clergy, but after more than a century of uncertainty it finally happened this week.

The coronation, which took place on November 19th in Krakรณw, attracted thousands of believers โ€“ including President Andrzej Duda andseveral MPs. Having Jesus on Poland's throne doesn't change anything legally, but it's another step the conservative government has taken towards forcing outdated morals on the Polish people.

A minivan passenger harassing pedestrians Sunday morning in east Las Vegas killed a bicyclist and subsequently fell out of the vehicle to also kill himself, according to Metro Police.

Hours after the crash, investigators continued to search for the driver of the minivan, who fled the scene, said Lt. Ray Spencer. He described the driver as a young Hispanic male.

The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. on Hollywood Boulevard, near Sahara Avenue, Spencer said.

A group of motorists were driving recklessly south on Hollywood, when the minivan broke away and veered toward the sidewalk where a couple was walking, Spencer said.

The passenger stuck out half his body in a failed attempt to slap the pedestrians, Spencer said.

But the pranksters continued on the road and encounter a woman in a bike lane near Sahara, Spencer said. The man again pulled out his body, slapping the woman, who fell to the ground, receiving fatal injuries, Spencer said. She was 55.

The momentum caused the man to fall out of the minivan, hitting the asphalt for about 150 feet before he hit a traffic light, which instantly killed him, Spencer said.

Detectives were combing the remote area for video cameras that might have recorded the incident or the minivan, which driver is facing homicide-related charges, Spencer said.

โ€œSenseless is an understatement,โ€ Spencer said. โ€œItโ€™s an absolute senseless act, thereโ€™s no reason behind this why I could tell you why it occurred other than complete stupidity.โ€

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradisus_Judaeorum

Paradisus Judaeorum is a Latin phrase describing the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as "heaven for the nobility, purgatory for townspeople, hell for peasants, paradise for Jews".

Some have read the noun phrase as a straightforward observation on the position of Jews in Poland: in the 17th century, Poland was notable for its tolerance toward most religious groups, while Jews faced persecution elsewhere in Europe. Others read the reference as openly antisemitic, surmising that its author felt that the Jews were overprivileged in Poland.
