> strike package 111V-B

111th attack wing, formerly A-10's, now MQ-9b Reapers. Reapers were recently upgraded to include JDAM's and a lot of other exciting stuff. Also, they participate in Strike Packages with other aircraft. The V-B could just be a strike package designation. Have been digging for this, but have not found anything.

Anyway, I thought this seemed more plausible than a lot of other explanations I've been hearing.

It would be a military planning designation, i.e. so many of this type of craft, so many of that type of craft, a certain ordinance, a certain tactic, etc.

Strike package Q, for example, in Desert Storm 1. This was the largest F-16 strike ever ordered. They must have dozens of designations, pre-planned for various contingencies.

That is my take.
