Jesus said that if satan knew the plan, he would have done everything in his power to stop the crucifixion.

The Vatican keeps Jesus on the cross out of spite. They have nothing to do with the real Jesus.

They have their own guy, a guy they call the "Vicar of Christ".

i.e. the guy they have, instead of having Christ.
