The trotting out of celebrities seems so 1992 Bill Clinton and 2008 Barack Obama. It's falling flat in 2020. Another backfire in the making for Dems because:

24/7 celebrity kneeling, moaning & intoning for BLM, G.FLoyd, etc. has worn thin…mass awareness that this is virtue signaling & these people are giant fakes.

Slick Willie & his sax, Hussein a the hip black guy…all easy to be spun as "our candidate is cool, and hangs out with Spike Lee and Paul McCartney". Joe Biden, not so much.

They are increasingly seen as out-of-touch, white liberals. Parties have shifted, and GOP is now the party of working class everyman. Dems tethering themselves to the elite super-wealthy donor class underscores that shift, pushes more blue-collar Dems away.

For the most part, these celebrities have resorted to angry screeching and violence infused rants. Madonna, De Niro, Reiner, blah blah blah. They don't present themselves as a rational source of influence.
