>You can drop it off. Do not bring it to your polling location. Poll workers cannot accept them.

Not true in NM.

Absentee ballots in NM can be dropped off at the county clerk's office or any polling station up until 7:00 p.m.

That said - as a person working hard to protect the integrity of the election………… I would prefer them going to the clerk's office so there aren't any ballots lost or added in during transit between the polling stations and the clerk's office.

We do know exactly how many ballots were issued and the status, and even who requested them. In my county there are only ~1% absentee ballots that have not yet been received at the clerk's office as of 11/01/2020 for processing and eventually counting.

Absentee ballot processing has begun. There are large number that have been challenged due to clerk's office not following the statutes, which in turn affected the ballots.

For those interested in the process…. absentee ballots are counted, then sorted in alpabetical order, then the process begins to make sure those ballots are received from people who requested them (a paper printout). Challengers interpose challenges at this point (for various reasons including but not limited to no signature type identifiers). Eventually the ballot are removed and separated from the envelopes. Then tabulated. And eventually resorted again by precinct for election night reporting purposes and storage.

RED WAVE

Personal opinion based on the stats in my county that I track every 5-6 hours (plus door knocker feedback): we get a red wave in a deep blue county.
