I'm in EU, too. Figure 3-4 AM for US East Coast results to start. Nothing really telling until 6 - 7 AM.

 

States report when they are finished. They don't wait for west coast. Causes problems because voters on west coast either won't vote, or will vote for obvious winner based on east coast results if winner has been determined by then.

 

Also, not all states close at the same time. Some may be 7 PM local time (1 AM EU for east coast states) others 8 or 9 PM local time. Polls can also stay open if lines are long, depending.
