I just was doing some research and came across a vast amount of data detailing the Fingers Lake had the largest underground railroad network in the nation during the Civil War.
I am not sure if there are subs or how that would work in a lake but there are absolutely historical tunnels in the Finger Lake region which date back to the civil war and the Underground Railroad. There are maps out there as well, it's massive and runs from NYC to Boston all the way up to the Finger Lakes.
What a great trafficking method that would be for them to bring shit in through Boston and New York and then underground to the Finger Lakes and all over the country from there.
