A MYSTERY British businessman has bet $5 MILLION on a Donald Trump victory at 37/20 — believed to be the largest political punt ever made.

 

The rich former-banker who is based offshore used a private bookies registered on the tiny Caribbean island Curacao for his risky gamble on today’s US presidential election.

 

A pal of the fluttering financiar said he had consulted with "Trump camp insiders" before making the high risk bet that could net him a cheque of almost $15million on 2.85 return.

 

A betting industry source told The Sun: "Word of this bet has done the rounds and we think it's the biggest ever made on politics."

 

But the mystery punter was not alone in a last minute flurry of bets for the White House incumbent.

 

Ladbrokes said 3 in 4 of all bets for Trump in the final week of campaign.

 

Jessica O'Reilly of Ladbrokes said: "Biden looks home and hosed according to the bookies and pollsters, but even at the eleventh hour punters are continuing to back Trump at the odds on offer."

 

And Paddy Power said the volume of wagers placed on the two candidates over the last 24-hours has seen 93 per cent of the money backing Donald Trump to get a second term, with just 7 per cent going for Joe Biden.

 

Biden is still firmly the bookies’ favourite though as America goes to the polls today.

 

It emerged today that a bet-placer has put $1million on him winning.

 

According to British bookmaker Betfair Exchange, an unnamed person in the UK placed £1million – or $1.29million – over the weekend on Biden beating incumbent Donald Trump.

 

If Biden wins the contentious race against Trump, the bet-placer will get $1,986,903.

 

The bookmaker said that $337million worth of bets have been placed on the 2020 election.

 

"This is a huge market," Matthew Shaddick, head of political betting at British sports betting and gambling firm GVC told AFP news agency.

 

"It is twice as big as 2016, easily making it the biggest political event ever."

 

Political betting is illegal in the United States – but it’s not overseas.

Democrats say San Marcos officials didn’t respond to “Trump Train” that harassed Biden bus

 

San Marcos city officials were notified more than 24 hours in advance about a planned campaign event Friday on behalf of Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee. Lisa Prewitt, a Democratic candidate for Hays County Commission, flagged local law enforcement early Thursday afternoon for the campaign to share safety concerns about the visit.

 

She called again the next day to report the dozens of cars and trucks with Trump flags surrounded the campaign bus on Interstate 35, creating a so-called “Trump Train” that led to a minor collision and an FBI investigation.

 

But San Marcos police never made it to the scene.

 

Prewitt, a former City Council member, said in an interview with The Texas Tribune that she called Chase Stapp, San Marcos’ director of public safety, on Friday and said that the bus was 30 minutes away from the event location in San Marcos and was being followed by 50 or so vehicles with Trump flags.

 

“I let [Stapp] know what was going on and [asked] if we were going to be receiving San Marcos [Police Department] backup, and I was reassured once again that would happen,” she said. “We never did see any law enforcement from the county nor the city show up to assist the Biden bus.”

 

A spokesperson for the city of San Marcos said police responded to requests to assist the bus, but traffic prevented officers from catching up before the bus left the city limits. The campaign had decided to cancel the San Marcos event and drive straight through to Austin because of the caravan behind the bus.

 

Stapp said in a statement that Prewitt never specifically requested a police escort or said the “Trump Train” was causing issues on I-35.

 

“With the exception of the two phone calls to me from Ms. Prewitt, at no time did anyone from the campaign request assistance from the San Marcos Police Department in advance of the event so that the request could be evaluated and prepared for,” Stapp said in a statement.

 

The confrontation, which garnered national attention, came just a few days before a contentious presidential election, as Democrats close ground in a state that is polling like a potential battleground in the race for president. Law enforcement agencies in at least four major cities, including Austin and San Antonio, have said they are planning for potential unrest around the election.

 

Prewitt said she expected that when she reported the activity, San Marcos police would respond with an escort for the bus and officers waiting at the site of the destination.

 

“I would assume that knowing the political atmosphere, knowing what was already taking place along the corridor, they would have also had police officers and county sheriffs available, too, to ensure things like that car accident didn’t happen and endanger all the lives of people on the highway, as well as people in the Biden campaign bus,” she said.

 

The Biden campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

San Marcos city officials said they had staff available to assist at the event, but they did not respond to requests for additional details about how many officers attempted to respond to the incident on the interstate.

 

At least one elected official accused police of playing politics ahead of Tuesday’s election.

 

New Braunfels police responded to 911 calls for assistance Friday and provided an escort throughout their jurisdiction. Spokespeople for Kyle police, Buda police and the Hays County sheriff said they did not know of the campaign event before Friday. A spokesperson for Hays County sheriff said given advance notice, all law enforcement agencies work together to make a plan for events like this. When asked whether San Marcos police should have alerted the Hays County sheriff’s office of the event, Lt. Dennis Gutierrez said no.

 

“They must have felt that they had it under control for the event in the city, but when the caravan kept heading north, it changed the dynamics tremendously,” Gutierrez said.

 

But Becerra said it’s disturbing that the sheriff’s office did not know of the event because the agencies share radios.

 

“If we had one sheriff’s department vehicle moving through with them, just one vehicle, none of this would have happened,” he said.

 

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin, condemned the Trump supporters’ behavior, and State Rep. Terry Canales, D-Edinburg, sent a letter to the Texas Department of Public Safety asking the agency to open an investigation into the “multi-county, criminal behavior on I-35” and “use the full weight of its resources to hold these criminals accountable.”

The Italian archbishop best known for confronting Pope Francis over the Vatican's willful blindness to priests who abuse boys has written a letter in which he lashes out at the "global elite", prompting some to accuse him of sympathizing with the "QAnon" movement of conspiracy theorists.

 

The letter, penned by Archibishop Carlo Maria Vigano, formerly the Vatican's ambassador to the US, attacks a shadowy "global elite", that is plotting a "Great Reset" intended to undermine "God and humanity".

 

This same group, the archbishop argued, is also responsible for the lockdowns that have restricted movement and freedom around the globe, eliciting protests in many European capitals.

 

"The fate of the whole world is being threatened by a global conspiracy against God and humanity," Viganò wrote in the letter, which comes just days before the US election, which the archbishop wrote was of "epochal importance."

 

“No one, up until last February,” Viganò writes, “would ever have thought that, in all of our cities, citizens would be arrested simply for wanting to walk down the street, to breathe, to want to keep their business open, to want to go to church on Sunday. Yet now it is happening all over the world, even in picture-postcard Italy that many Americans consider to be a small enchanted country, with its ancient monuments, its churches, its charming cities, its characteristic villages.” Viganò adds: “And while the politicians are barricaded inside their palaces promulgating decrees like Persian satraps, businesses are failing, shops are closing, and people are prevented from living, traveling, working, and praying."

 

Working to protect the world from this group of elites seeking to recast society in a secular, totalitarian model, Viganò portrays President Trump as “the final garrison against the world dictatorship". Viganò cast Trump's opponent, Vice President Joe Biden, as "a person who is manipulated by the deep state."

 

Analysts who monitor "QAnon" conspiracy theories and their spread online warned the mainstream press that the letter had been widely discussed on various QAnon message boards, and had been disseminated in languages including Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian, according to Yahoo News.

 

Over the summer, Trump tweeted an earlier letter penned by the archbishop, and encouraged his supporters to read it.

Allow me to address you at this hour in which the fate of the whole world is being threatened by a global conspiracy against God and humanity. We see heads of nations and religious leaders pandering to this suicide of Western culture and its Christian soul, while the fundamental rights of citizens and believers are denied in the name of a health emergency that is revealing itself more and more fully as instrumental to the establishment of an inhuman faceless tyranny.

 

A global plan called the Great Reset is underway. Its architect is a global élite that wants to subdue all of humanity, imposing coercive measures with which to drastically limit individual freedoms and those of entire populations. In several nations this plan has already been approved and financed; in others it is still in an early stage. Behind the world leaders who are the accomplices and executors of this infernal project, there are unscrupulous characters who finance the World Economic Forum and Event 201, promoting their agenda.

 

The purpose of the Great Reset is the imposition of a health dictatorship aiming at the imposition of liberticidal measures, hidden behind tempting promises of ensuring a universal income and cancelling individual debt. The price of these concessions from the International Monetary Fund will be the renunciation of private property and adherence to a program of vaccination against Covid-19 and Covid-21 promoted by Bill Gates with the collaboration of the main pharmaceutical groups. Beyond the enormous economic interests that motivate the promoters of the Great Reset, the imposition of the vaccination will be accompanied by the requirement of a health passport and a digital ID, with the consequent contact tracing of the population of the entire world. In the intentions of its architects, this crisis will serve to make the recourse of nations to the Great Reset irreversible, thereby giving the final blow to a world whose existence and very memory they want to completely cancel. But this world, Mr. President, includes people, affections, institutions, faith, culture, traditions, and ideals: people and values that do not act like automatons, who do not obey like machines, because they are endowed with a soul and a heart, because they are tied together by a spiritual bond that draws its strength from above, from that God that our adversaries want to challenge, just as Lucifer did at the beginning of time with his “non serviam."

 

Many people – as we well know – are annoyed by this reference to the clash between Good and Evil and the use of “apocalyptic” overtones, which according to them exasperates spirits and sharpens divisions. It is not surprising that the enemy is angered at being discovered just when he believes he has reached the citadel he seeks to conquer undisturbed. What is surprising, however, is that there is no one to sound the alarm. The reaction of the deep state to those who denounce its plan is broken and incoherent, but understandable. Just when the complicity of the mainstream media had succeeded in making the transition to the New World Order almost painless and unnoticed, all sorts of deceptions, scandals and crimes are coming to light.

Canadian Forces forged a letter warning Canadians wolves were loose and now seeks to establish new organization to use propaganda, other techniques to influence Canadians

 

A letter from the Nova Scotia government sent out to residents to warn about a pack of wolves on the loose in the province was forged by Canadian military personnel as part of a propaganda training mission that went off the rails.

 

The test involved using a loudspeaker to generate wolf sounds. The forged letter was part of new skills being tested by the military as it hones its expertise for launching propaganda missions at home and abroad. The letter was developed by information warfare specialists with the Halifax Rifles, a reserve unit.

 

They not only forged the logo of the Wildlife Division of Nova Scotia’s Department of Lands and Forestry but they also attributed the letter to a real Nova Scotia government employee, even though they didn’t have permission to do so. A phone number on the letter, which residents were to call if they had concerns about the wolves, was traced by this newspaper to the work number of an Environment Canada employee, who also appears to be a Canadian Forces reservist.

 

Now, the Canadian Forces wants to establish a new organization that will use propaganda and other techniques to try to influence the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of Canadians, according to documents obtained by this newspaper.

 

The plan comes on the heels of the Canadian Forces spending more than $1 million to train public affairs officers on behaviour modification techniques of the same sort used by the parent firm of Cambridge Analytica, as well as a controversial and bizarre propaganda training mission in which the military forged letters from the Nova Scotia government to warn the public that wolves were wandering in the province.

 

This is thanks to Emic who is an offshoot organization from the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Gaby van den Boerg, a Dutch citizen, was Strategic Communication Laboratories' (SCL) Director of Operators. The SCL Group was Cambridge Analytica's parent company. It drew on psychological and social science to distil techniques aimed at manipulating group behaviour. She formed a new company in the UK, Emic Consulting Group. Emic has offices in the UK, Washington, DC, the UAE, Egypt, other countries. Its HQ is in Virginia.

 

The Canadian government has spent over $1M CAD with Emic for its training program, a direct descendent of SCL’s branded “Behavioural Dynamics Methodology.” It promises to help its military clients analyze and profile groups to find the best strategy to effectively influence a target audience’s behavior.

Gov. Newsom overstepped his power with executive order on election, California judge says

 

Gov. Gavin Newsom overstepped his executive authority when he issued an executive order in June specifying how counties should carry out a mostly vote-by-mail election, a Sutter County judge said in a preliminary decision on Monday.

 

The ruling will not affect the 2020 election, although it invalidates the election process executive order.

 

Judge Sarah Heckman wrote Newsom exceeded his authority and violated the separation of powers between the three branches of government when he issued Executive Order N-67-20 directing county election officials to take certain steps leading up to the general election. Newsom’s order cited the coronavirus outbreak as an emergency that warranted additional election protocol.

 

His order specified how many polling places and ballot drop boxes counties must have. An earlier executive order, N-64-20, required counties to send mail ballots to all registered voters.

 

Shortly after he issued the election orders, the Legislature passed two bills that effectively put his directives into law.

 

Republican Assemblymen James Gallagher of Yuba City and Kevin Kiley of Rocklin filed the lawsuit, contesting Newsom’s use of his powers.

 

The governor’s attorneys argued that the executive order was within the bounds of the California Emergency Services Act, which gives the governor broad authority in a state of emergency, such as the coronavirus pandemic.

 

But Heckman on Tuesday said the act only gives the governor power to issue orders and regulations and to suspend certain statutes — not create new ones.

 

“The governor does not have the power or authority to assume the Legislature’s role of creating legislative policy and enactments,” Heckman wrote in her opinion.

 

The court also prohibited Newsom from further exercising any power under the act which amends, alters or changes existing statutory law, or makes new statutory law or legislative policy.

 

The suit has received widespread public attention, especially from those who feel Newsom has acted unfairly and unilaterally in restricting economic activity during the pandemic. The hearing, conducted via live stream on Oct. 21, received thousands of views on Facebook.

 

Kiley and Gallagher applauded the court’s decision on Monday.

 

“We have been arguing that the California Emergency Services Act does not provide for one-man rule. Today, the court agreed with us,” the lawmakers said in a joint statement. “This is a victory for separation of powers. The governor has continued to create and change state law without public input and without the deliberative process provided by the Legislature. Today the judicial branch again gave him the check that was needed and that the Constitution requires.”

 

Jesse Melgar, press secretary to the governor, said in a statement that the ruling makes clear that Newsom’s statutory emergency authority is broad and constitutional, and that he has the authority in emergencies to suspend statutes and issue orders to protect Californians.

 

“Additionally, this ruling has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the current election,” Melgar said. “We strongly disagree with specific limitations the ruling places on the exercise of the governor’s emergency authority and are evaluating next steps.”

How Trump could push button on 'red mirage' strategy and send US election to Supreme Court

 

President Donald Trump has denied he plans to execute a "red mirage" strategy on election night, where he declares himself the winner early and sets up a potential Supreme Court battle.

The red mirage entails Mr Trump declaring victory before midnight if he finds himself ahead in a clutch of key battleground states.

A report by Axios, which Mr Trump has rejected as false, claims the president's team have been discussing the plan for weeks.

 

The story was based on three sources familiar with the discussions, Axios claimed.

For red mirage to occur, Mr Trump would need to either win or have commanding leads in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Iowa, Arizona and Georgia.

But it will all be about Pennsylvania, Professor Wesley Widmaier, an international affairs expert at Australian National University, said.

 

"Pennsylvania is the keystone here, no pun intended," Professor Widmaier told nine.com.au, referring to the state's nickname.

Professor Widmaier said Mr Trump could "plausibly tip" the handful of key states that would set up Pennsylvania as a potential trigger point.

"Then they'll know they just have to take that risky strategy in Pennsylvania," he explained.

According to Axois, Mr Trump's team is preparing to falsely claim that mail-in ballots counted after November 3 are evidence of election fraud and a stolen election.

Speaking to reporters to deny the story, Mr Trump added it was a "terrible thing when ballots can be collected after an election".

A former Obama staffer this week said the red mirage strategy sounded like a "super villain" and would be just as "insidious" if used.

US Marshals Rescue 27 Missing Children in Virginia: “We Will Never Stop Looking”

November 2, 2020

A large group of missing children have been rescued in less than a single week in Virginia thanks to the efforts of US Marshals and other law enforcement.

 

The rescue was a part of “Operation Find Our Children,” an ongoing federal law enforcement effort. On Friday, the Department of Justice announced that 27 missing children had been recovered by marshals.

 

U.S. Marshals, special agents, officers and detectives from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, and Virginia Department of Social Services employees all collaborated to rescue the children.

 

“The Department of Justice is dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable children in our society and ‘Operation Find Our Children’ does just that,” Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey A. Rosen said in a press release.

“While this Virginia operation is the most recent recovery of endangered and missing children led by the U.S. Marshals Service this year, we have also recovered more than 440 kids in Georgia, Ohio, Indiana, Louisiana and other states,” Rosen went on. “Because of this initiative, the recovered children are now out of harm’s way.”

 

The U.S. Marshals Service tirelessly works to track down missing and exploited children across all fifty states, as we’ve previously reported.

“I can think of no more critical or satisfying mission for a law enforcement officer, than rescuing an endangered child,” said U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia Nick E. Proffitt, according to the Department of Justice.

 

“I am proud of the Deputy Marshals in the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and their partners for the work they accomplished this week—and the results speak for themselves; these 27 children are safe once again,” Proffitt declared. “We want the missing children across this great nation to know the U.S. Marshals Service will never stop looking for you, we will find you.”
