"Tucker Carlson's tale of documents regarding Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his family being lost in the mail is under scrutiny with questions over why copies would not have been made prior to them being posted.

 

The Fox News host, speaking on his show Tucker Carlson Tonight, described his team having been in receipt of confidential documents which he branded "real, authentic and damning" about the Biden family.

 

His comments come amid allegations made against Hunter Biden in regards to business dealings in Ukraine and China, which have also seen accusations made against his father.

'Tom Nichols, a professor at the U.S. Naval War School and a senior adviser to anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project, also questioned Carlson's comments and motives for making them.

 

"If you think about it, this is a brilliant strategy," Nichols tweeted. "Now the fever swamp viewers of Carlson's nightly 60 minutes of hate can just imagine what those documents are and how bad they are, instead of Tucker risking getting sued or caught with fakes."

 

Newsweek has contacted Fox News and the Biden campaign for comment.
