On May 12, 2009, numerous employees in Jarrett's office—and possibly Jarrett herself—helped co-host a strategy meeting organized by the Nathan Cummings Foundation. At this event, some 60 artists were—in the words of one of the meeting’s organizers—“challenged to come up with promising and attractive ideas about how artists can work for the [Obama] administration’s agenda.”
