Judging from POTUS demeanor and answers in F&F live interview this morning, he'll let the press play whatever games it wants - criticize them of course, but not claim victory "on his own." There can be no red mirage unless Trump goes out "on his own." He can wait. He's POTUS until January 20, and any unjustified delay in making the call will further harm the press.
