The U.S. Postal Service said in a court filing late Monday that around 180,000 delayed pieces of mail were discovered at a South Miami-Dade County post office where dozens of undelivered ballots were found Friday.

An additional 15 ballots were found Saturday and Sunday for a total of 62 ballots discovered at the Princeton Post Office near Homestead, the court filing said.

With Election Day one day away, postal employees were still sorting through mail at the Princeton facility Monday, according to the filing in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. No additional ballots had been found Monday.

On Tuesday around 9 a.m., the Postal Service reported that workers had finished searching all 180,000 pieces of delayed mail, and that 62 was the final tally of outstanding ballots.

The filing said all but one of the 62 ballots had been delivered, though it wasn’t clear how many had already been filled out by voters and how many had never even been delivered to voters.

After approximately 48 ballots were found Friday, officials said six of those had already been filled out and were brought to the Miami-Dade elections department, while the remainder hadn’t been sent to voters yet and were delivered to 24 people who hadn’t already voted.

3RD LANDING SUPPORT BATTALION ACTIVATES ABOARD CAMP FOSTER

CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan –

3rd Marine Logistics Group reactivated 3rd Landing Support Battalion in a ceremony here, November 2.

Drawing its lineage from the 3rd Service Battalion, which activated in 1942 in the midst of World War II, 3rd LSB most recently existed as the 3rd Division Service Group in 1976.

Now activated once again, 3rd LSB stands ready to serve as the III Marine Expeditionary Force main effort for landing support in future amphibious operations, according to the unit’s commanding officer, Lt. Col. Jeremy Nelson.

“There ain’t no party like a shore party!” Nelson quipped to the group gathered at the Camp Foster Community Center for the private event.

“Our goal is to aggressively find solutions to support mobile, low-signature forward presence across the future battlefield,” said Nelson. “Whether it’s from a barge, beach, airfield, seaport, or seaplane, ultimately our mission is to support Marines and Sailors in close contact with the enemy.”

Composed of a Landing Support Company Alpha, Landing Support Company Bravo, and Headquarters and Service Company, 3rd LSB is the newest subordinate unit of Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd MLG.

“With the return of the red patchers, the Marine Corps is truly preparing for the future by drawing on its storied past,” said Sgt. Maj. Erick Cortes, sergeant major of 3rd LSB.

3rd LSB’s history, detailed during the ceremony, goes back to World War II, when they were first activated as the 3rd Service Battalion and would go on to participate in campaigns across the Pacific, including Guam and Iwo Jima.

The unit’s honors include: Navy Unit Commendation streamer with two Bronze Stars, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign streamer with four Bronze Stars, World War II Victory streamer, National Defense Service streamer with two Bronze Stars, Korean Service Streamer, Vietnam Service Streamer with two Silver and one Bronze Star, Global War on Terrorism Service streamer, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry streamer with palm.

Cyber Daily: Officials on Watch for Disinformation If 2020 Election Results Are Delayed | Chinese Drones in U.S. Air Force

Hello. Disinformation threatens the security of the U.S. election in a more potent way than hacking, some cybersecurity authorities say. Potential attackers, including foreign governments, could sow confusion if voting results are delayed, WSJ Pro’s David Uberti reports.

Also today: How to use, or not use, social media during the election; Air Force purchase of Chinese drones spurs security concerns; hospitals make moves to avoid ransomware disruptions; Snowden seeks Russian citizenship; Home Depot Canada confirms breach; the evolution of Russian meddling in U.S. elections.

Officials on watch for disinformation if 2020 election results are delayed. Election Day will put to the test four years of U.S. preparations to block a cyberattack on its voting systems. But officials face an immediate follow-up challenge: Disinformation that could become more damaging the longer it takes to declare a winner.

Federal, state and local governments are on high alert for false narratives aimed at discrediting electoral outcomes if key states take days to tally votes. Election officials say they have spent recent weeks finalizing plans to monitor and combat such campaigns, while social media companies are shoring up policies to limit the spread of such disinformation.

Existing political divisions, worries about the pandemic and flashbacks to Russian interference in 2016 could help foreign or domestic disinformation create more disruption than some cyberattacks themselves, former officials and cybersecurity experts say.

“[Attackers] don’t have to prove that they changed vote totals if they simply say they’ve changed vote totals,” said Glenn Gerstell, former general counsel of the National Security Agency.

Some of tech's biggest names donated millions of dollars ahead of the 2020 election, and most of it went to Democrats

Some of tech's biggest-name executives and other Silicon Valley power players donated millions of dollars to political campaigns ahead of the 2020 election.

The 2020 election is the most expensive in history, the result of a contentious presidential race and tight Senate and House races. It's meant major spending from millionaire and billionaire donors, including those who hail from the tech industry.

CNBC's Ari Levy calculated the total donations from tech leaders in the run-up to the 2020 election, citing data from the Center for Responsive Politics. The data showed that most spending went toward electing former Vice President Joe Biden and clinching Democratic control of the Senate.

CNBC found that billionaire executives like Asana's Dustin Moskovitz, former Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, and Twilio CEO Jeff Lawson and his wife, Erica, were among some of the biggest contributors to pro-Biden super PAC Future Forward USA. During this election cycle, Moskovitz, Schmidt, and the Lawsons have spent about $24 million, $6 million, and $7 million, respectively.

Other major donors include Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings, who — along with his wife, Patty Quillin — donated more than $5 million, mostly to a Democratic PAC supporting close Senate races, according to CNBC.

CNBC tracked donations from other key players in the tech industry, including LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Qualcomm cofounder Irwin Jacobs, Y Combinator cofounder Jessica Livingston, and venture capitalists Vinod Khosla and Michael Moritz. All of them contributed to Democratic groups, CNBC found.

Biden is planning to declare victory if news organizations say he won the presidential election - even if Trump won't concede

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is planning to declare victory on Tuesday night if news organizations announce him as the winner of the presidential election, even if President Donald Trump refuses to concede and contests the results.

Biden campaign advisers told Axios that the former vice president wants to avoid taking a defensive posture if the president spreads misinformation about the election or moves forward with lawsuits.

"We're not really concerned about what Donald Trump says," Biden's campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, told reporters on Monday. "We're going to use our data, our understanding of where this is headed, and make sure that the vice president is addressing the American people."

Trump has privately told advisers that he will declare victory on Tuesday night if it looks like he's leading the race, according to Axios. But on Tuesday morning, the president told "Fox and Friends" that he'll only declare himself the winner "if" and "when" "there is victory."

Dillon expressed confidence that Biden campaign will have "a very good sense of where we're headed" on Election Night, even if many ballots have yet to be counted and argued that it will be mathematically impossible for Trump to win on Tuesday night.

"Under no scenario will Donald Trump be declared a victor on election night," she said.

According to Biden's schedule, the Democrat is planning to address the nation on Tuesday night, regardless of what the results show.

Axios reported that, if he wins, Biden will quickly move forward with the transition process in the days and weeks after Election Day.
