Palestine Mandate was what is now Israel + Gaza + West Bank, but with certain boundaries drawn to separate Jews from Palestinians.

Jews declared statehood for Israel and in that announcement & founding documents ACCEPTED THE BORDERS OF THE MANDATE AS THEIR OWN. Then they were acknowledged by governments with those specific boundaries.

They promptly overran those boundaries and taking territory outside of it.
