Troll Farms in India Made Up Large Portion of Biden Following on Twitter

Those large numbers of Twitter followers that followed the Biden campaign after the announcement that Harris was joining the ticket were paid trolls working in India

Just after the Biden campaign announced that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), was joining the ticket, a large spike in Twitter followers emerged for the Biden-Harris campaign. But a recent investigation into Biden’s social media following shows that huge bump was paid for; those “followers” were from troll farms in India.

An in-depth examination of the Biden campaign’s social media followers by Zenger News revealed that Biden’s increased social media footprint came from the India’s infamous troll farms. Without question, this falsely generated facade boosted his candidacy.

On August 12, 2020, just two weeks after Biden announced that Harris would be his running mate, his Twitter following jumped by 738,595 new followers. That equates to a 9.1 percent leap. His total number of followers hit 11 million by the third week of October.

But a close examination of this increase in followers revealed unusual patterns.

A significant number of Twitter accounts that suddenly started following Biden and his campaign were apparently created specifically for that purpose. Add to that the fact that a large number of the “followers” were located in small towns in rural India and in places where English-speakers are considered an anomaly.

The handles – or usernames – were also owned by people who don’t speak English as a first language. Neither do they look to be legitimately invested in American politics.

Two of the troll farm operators who executed the Biden campaign spoke to Zenger about how social media manipulating agencies in New Delhi and Mumbai triggered a huge troll network to amplify Biden’s campaign on Twitter.

“We don’t pick and choose. Joe Biden the person is irrelevant to us,” Yajpal Yadav, based in the eastern India town of Patna, said. He is the owner of a cybercafé that doubles as a hub for the massive troll farms of India.

“We got a target in August to follow him and engage with his tweets, and we did. The agencies in Delhi who we work with don’t tell us any details, and we don’t ask,” he said.

Yajpal sketched out a pyramid-shaped campaign structure much like that of a multi-level marketing scheme, but without the mid-level payoffs, explaining that this is how the troll farms are managed.

“There are so many levels [of subcontractors] in this, nobody can really trace anything back. We don’t even get paid through banks. We settle in cash once a month” via a popular international money transfer system named Hawala that uses shady bookkeepers outside official banking networks.

As Twitter and Facebook remain in the hot seat over their various forms of censorship targeting the American information consumer – as well as many news outlets that seek to keep them informed, it would require the willing suspension of disbelief to think that Twitter executives did not see the same irregular patterns that were recognized by the Zenger investigation.

Terrorist Threat in Switzerland High, No Data About Possible Attacks, Intelligence Service Says

A terrorist threat in Switzerland remains high, but there is no information regarding an actual attack, Isabelle Graber, a spokeswoman for the country's Federal Intelligence Service (FIS), told Sputnik.

"The attacks in Vienna and Nice confirm the forecasts of the Federal Intelligence Service. The terrorist threat in Switzerland remains high. At present, intelligence does not have specific information about possible attacks in Switzerland," Graber said.

According to Graber, isolated acts of violence may nonetheless be committed in the country by radical or mentally unbalanced individuals. A reaction by aggressive right-wing extremists toward members or symbols of Muslim or Jewish communities present in Switzerland is also possible.

A series of gun attacks left four dead and 22 injured in the Austrian capital of Vienna late on Monday. An assailant, who was shot dead by police, was reportedly a supporter of the Daesh* terror group. The Austrian Interior Ministry confirmed that another participant in the gun rampage in the capital was arrested and identified as 20-year-old Albanian Kujtim Fejzulai, whose family had moved from the North Macedonian city of Tetovo to Vienna.

Earlier on Tuesday, police of the city of Winterthur said that two Swiss citizens, 18 and 24 years old, were arrested in the Swiss canton of Zurich in connection with the terrorist attack in Vienna.

In mid-October, France was shaken by a number of attacks across the country including the beheading of a French teacher by a radicalized Muslim teenager. Another terrorist attack was carried out on a church in the southern city of Nice, leaving three dead.

Man drives 1,217 miles from LA to Texas to vote after not receiving mail-in ballot

Another man drove from Boston to Georgia to vote, and two college students drove from D.C. to Texas

There are stories coming out of people driving great distances to make their voice heard in the 2020 presidential election. A man drove more than 1,200 miles to cast his vote on Election Day after he didn't receive his mail-in ballot. Jeff Wilson, who works in Los Angeles, made the 19-hour drive to his native home of Texas so that he could vote because of the "gravity of this election."

Wilson drove from California to Kendall County, Texas, which is about 50 miles north of San Antonio. He departed on Sunday afternoon to make sure he would be there on Election Day. Wilson cast his vote at Boerne City Hall on Tuesday, saying that he felt "gratefulness that we have the right to do this."

"It was definitely worth the drive," Wilson told KCAL-TV. "We as Americans, as Texans, get to call this aspect of the shots."

Wilson noted that if he can drive across several states to vote, then people have no excuse not to go to their local polling station to vote even if there is a long wait.

"If I'm gonna drive 1,217 miles and sleep in my car for a few hours, I think there aren't a whole lot of excuses to drive three or four minutes to the polling station and maybe wait a while," Wilson said.

Wilson claimed that it took about 24 hours to get back home in Texas. He said that he slept in his car in the desert for a "couple hours." Wilson said that he originally booked a flight from L.A. to El Paso, but decided to drive after he saw that the Texas city was experiencing a surge of COVID-19 cases.

Another very dedicated voter literally went to great lengths to cast his vote. A man drove from Boston, Massachusetts, to Savannah, Georgia, to cast his vote.

Joe LaMuraglia said he spent over 30 hours in his car so that he could vote after his absentee ballot didn't arrive in the mail.

"They looked it up, they were able to track it, and they had the street address and they had the zip code right," LaMuraglia told The Boston Globe. "But they had the state wrong — they sent it to Virginia."

Traveling more than 1,000 miles each way, the man occupied the 15-hour drive by listening to music, podcasts, and talking on the phone with friends. On Tuesday morning, LaMuraglia cast his vote in Savannah, where he is registered to vote and owns a home.

"That was a lot of freakin' effort, but I could not sit this one out," he said of the 2020 presidential election. "It was just too damn important."

"I look at voting as an obligation," LaMuraglia declared. "It's my job as a citizen."

Seven West Media executive and alleged war criminal Ben Roberts-Smith caught lying and deceiving the public in defamation case

Alleged war criminal Ben Roberts-Smith is digging a massive hole for himself trying to avoid criminal charges for alleged war crimes by running a blocking manoeuvre by suing for defamation hoping that will stifle any criminal charges being laid.

The latest reports have Mr Roberts-Smith wife giving evidence in the defamation matter via an affidavit that Mr Roberts-Smith asked her to lie and say they were separated when he had an affair with a lawyer who he allegedly punched in the face after a function at parliament house.

To make matters worse Ben Roberts-Smith’s lawyers and/or PR people leaked the documents to the media but blacked out the part where his wife said she was asked to lie. On Monday (2/11/20) lawyers for The SMH and The Age were in court and complained. Not long after the SMH published an article and said:

Mr Roberts-Smith is currently suing Nine Entertainment papers The SMH and The Age “over reports he allegedly committed murder on deployments to Afghanistan and that he punched his mistress in the face in Canberra.”

He denies the allegations and says the reports are defamatory because they portray him as a criminal.

The news outlets are defending the claim on a truth defence. The defamation trial is to start next year.

Ben Roberts-Smith asked his wife to lie about an affair he had with another woman, a court has heard, amid revelations the former Australian soldier heavily redacted information from documents sent to news outlets as part of a defamation case.

On Monday the Federal Court was told that without its permission Mr Roberts-Smith redacted information from documents before they were sent to the news outlets as part of the defamation case.

Barrister Lyndelle Barnett, appearing for the news outlets, told the court on Monday the information in the affidavits raised questions about the credibility of Mr and Ms Roberts-Smith, which could be an issue at trial. Ms Roberts-Smith is expected to be called as a witness for her husband.

Bruce McClintock, SC, appearing for Mr Roberts-Smith, said the material was redacted from the documents because it was “deeply personal” and irrelevant to the allegations at the centre of the defamation trial.

But Ms Barnett said a party didn’t have the right to redact information without a court’s permission. (Click here to read more)

Earlier in the day on Monday, before they went to court, journalist Nick McKenzie, who is also being sued by Ben Roberts-Smith in the same defamation matter, Tweeted the below Tweet.
