As I watch the past few years unfold, I am reminded of FOUNTAINHEAD by Anne Rand.

Roark, the independent outsider and non-conformist, looks to change the status quo.

Ellsworth M. Toohey, who writes a popular architecture column in the Banner, is an outspoken socialist who shapes public opinion through his column and a circle of influential associates. Toohey sets out to destroy Roark through a smear campaign. He also controls multiple media outlets and creates an echo chamber of criticism and attacks. (Sound familiar?)

Iโ€™m not saying itโ€™s a perfect fit but there are elements to echo what we see today.
