The last time I voted for President, I voted for Bob Dole. In the early 2000's, a few years after 9-11, I concluded (logically) that reality was gravely divergent from what we were being told to think. I was seriously lost for years, and had pretty much given up on the U.S. as a Constitutional Republic in anything other than name only.
And then 4,10, 20 became president. And he hung the picture of the greatest President in the history of the United States behind the Resolute Desk – Andrew Jackson. (As well as one of the greatest of the 10 Virginia Presidents, Thomas Jefferson.)
For the first time in a very long time, I had hope that we were not doomed to a downward-spiraling Marxist nightmare. It gave me the courage to try to come back on the grid.
And then a year later, Governor Blackface/KKK (not sure which) became Governor, and both houses in the Virginia statehouse went commie. Seriously. WTF. My entire life Virginia has been a bastion of Constitutional liberties, and now I'm living in fucking California.
I like to say I'm to the right of Patrick Henry – Give me liberty. (PERIOD.) Oh, and give commies Death. We (and I) fought a Cold War against this bullshit (and yes, I am painfully aware of the boondoggle that the Cold War actually was, the fact that Vietnam was an opium war, etc., etc.) But the notion was that we fought it against Communism in defense of the American way of life.
Good Vietnamese friend who came here in the 70's knows what Marxist apparatchiks look like from personal experience (just like the Cubans in Miami), and her disgust, disdain, and downright, abject rejection of Biden, and especially Harris is based on knowing what these sorts of people "do".
And so I'm praying that Virginia returns to its heritage, tradition, and fucking common sense…
