only land owning taxpayers who can pass a minimal tests of intelligence and knowledge of current affairs get the PRIVILEGE of voting. the constitution was rejected dozens of times until the bill of rights was added. NOTABLY the "right" to vote was NOT enumerated in the bill of rights, because the founding fathers knew that you can't let children, freeloaders, and criminals have a say so in running the country.

i'm willing to give women the vote, just so they'll STFU, provided they own land, pay taxes, and pass an intelligence test. that last bit weeds out most of 'em anyway.
