Just logging this to see if any other ExpatAnons had similar issues getting an absentee ballot to the USA from abroad. I’m a MI resident currently trapped in Europe due to COVID travel bans. More than two weeks ago, I sent my absentee ballot to my parents in Michigan via FedEx so that they could submit it in person at the precinct.

All tracking info for the shipment ceased after the envelope arrived at the Heathrow (UK) sorting center. That’s the end of the line. No further tracking details, and the envelope has vanished. As of today, there is officially no chance of having it count in what is now a very tight race. My only recourse is to get my lousy £56 back.

Thoughts on this, Anons? I’ve never “lost” shipment in many decades of international shipping. Any other year, I’d just assume that it’s bound to happen from time to time—but this is too much to pass off as coincidence.

Any others have fuckery to report along these lines?

Thanks, but that wasn't the question. I've personally been on the phone with the manager of the sorting center at Heathrow and the employee who last handled the envelope. The QUESTION is whether others have had similar problems.

Thanks and carry on.
