People have bills to pay. They know everything thing is fucked up and bullshit but keeping their heads above water is priority one. The good people of the DS give them Honey Boo Boo, Fantasy Feetsball and Walmart to serve as distractions and people just make do.
Actually ballot paper is quite a bit thicker than the normal printer paper pictured. The stack would be quite a bit taller.
