Sheriff Issues Stiff Warning To Parents After Arrest Of Man Accused Of Preying On More Than 133 Kids

Parents need to head the advice of one North Carolina sheriff after police arrested a man on more than 300 counts of sex crimes against children. The suspect is currently being held on a $20 million dollar bond and awaiting trial. Some of his victims are as young as 5 years old and police have identified more than 133 alleged victims so far.

Joshuah Taylor Bradshaw, 30, of the 1000 block of Fairfield Circle in Raeford, was arrested Thursday in Etta, Mississippi, by the FBI, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said Hoke County detectives were dispatched Aug. 7 to investigate an alleged juvenile sexual assault. As a result of that investigation, 156 arrest warrants were obtained, the release said.

“My message to parents, pay close attention to what your children are doing at all times. Watch how much access they give their children to people whether in person or online,” Peterkin said.

Bradshaw is charged with 12 counts each of statutory sexual offense with a child by an adult, taking indecent liberties with children, crimes against nature, and first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He also is charged with 144 counts each of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

An Internet pedophile ring with up to 70,000 members — thought to be the world's largest —has been uncovered by police, a security official said Wednesday. The European police agency Europol said in a statement that "Operation Rescue" had identified 670 suspects and that 230 abused children in 30 countries had been taken to safety. More children are expected to be found, Europol said.

It said that so far 184 people had been arrested and investigations in some countries were continuing. Most of those detained are suspected of direct involvement in sexually abusing children. They include teachers, police officers and scout leaders, AP reported. One Spaniard who worked at summer youth camps is suspected of abusing some 100 children over five years.
