A Suspicious Election
November 6, 2020
Last summer, the press was obsessed with asking President Trump if he would leave the White House without controversy if defeated by Joe Biden. The President always replied yes, if the vote was honest.
The question was asked over and over and I found something strange about the media’s fixation.
Now, it’s coming together theoretically. The drive on the part of democrats to widen mail-in voting rules (Covid was the rationale), and the theme of casting doubt on Mr. Trump’s departure.
I am not a conspiracy guy, but I don’t much believe in coincidences either. Something was in the air last summer that is being played out today. Something important.
I’ve been covering presidential elections since 1976 and the difference between vote tallies on Election Day and the new data from mail votes is nothing short of stunning. Americans who are suspicious have a right to that sentiment. I am suspicious.
But hard facts need to emerge before “fraud” charges can be certified. Reasonable doubt is valid but more than that is needed to keep Joe Biden out of the White House.
