Trump Mulling Firing Top Officials at the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, Report Claims

On Thursday, a senior Pentagon spokesman dismissed reporting by NBC News that Secretary of Defence Mark Esper was preparing to proactively resign from his post in the expectation that he would be one of the cabinet officials to be pushed out by President Trump in the coming weeks.

President Donald Trump is considering firing Secretary of Defence Esper, CIA director Gina Haspel and others, including FBI Director Christopher Wray, The Hill has reported, citing sources said to be familiar with the situation.

One source told the outlet that despite recent Pentagon statements to the contrary, Esper could be forced out as soon as this week. A second source noted however that nothing has been set in stone so far.

An aide to members of the House Armed Services Committee confirmed that the panel had not been told about “any imminent personnel changes within Pentagon leadership” to date, with the Pentagon pointing media inquiries to earlier comments by Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman that Secretary Esper had “no plans to resign,” nor had he been asked to resign.

Esper and Trump suffered a falling out in recent months, including over the president’s opposition to the stripping of Confederate leaders’ names from US military bases, and the Pentagon chief’s resistance to deploying the military to crack down on anti-racism and police justice protests overwhelming multiple major US cities this summer.

Speculation is also rife that CIA chief Haspel and FBI Director Christopher Wray may be forced out, The Hill says, citing what it says is frustration in the White House over a lack of support amid recent political developments, including the lack of a formal FBI probe into Hunter Biden’s alleged illegal business dealings in Ukraine, and the agency’s refusal to sack officials responsible for the Russiagate investigation against President Trump.

Trump picked Esper for the post of Secretary of Defence in mid-2019, with Esper succeeding General Jim Mattis, who resigned over disagreements with Trump on Syria policy and other issues. Trump picked Haspel for the post of CIA director in May 2018 after its previous chief, Mike Pompeo, was tapped to replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State. Wray succeeded James Comey as FBI director in August 2017.

Paradise Papers pulp giant faces profit-shifting accusations

APRIL may have misclassified exports to reduce its tax bill in Indonesia, a new report by the Tax Justice Forum says.

Controversial Indonesian paper giant APRIL may have misreported its wood pulp exports while shifting large profits overseas, enabling it to avoid tax, a new report by a consortium of 25 organizations claims.

One of the world’s largest paper and pulp producers, APRIL, or Asia Pacific Resources International Holdings Ltd, and its affiliates have been involved in past conflicts with local communities over forest and peatland clearing on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo.

The report by the Tax Justice Forum alleges that, from 2016 to 2018, APRIL classified exports of dissolving pulp ー typically used to manufacture viscose fiber for textiles ー as paper-grade pulp, a less valuable type used to make tissues and packaging.

According to the report’s authors, who noted that companies may have legitimate reasons to practice profit shifting, the scheme could have allowed APRIL to understate its revenues by as much as $242 million and to reduce its tax bill.

“This is a double loss for Indonesians,” said Mouna Wasef, one of the researchers with the coalition, originally named Forum Pajak Berkeadilan. “They are missing out on the full tax benefits that the government should be getting from natural resource industries while at the same time, they are losing the underlying natural resources on which these industries are based.”

The 82-page report, titled The Macao Money Machine, is designed to provide the Indonesian government and others with an analysis of profit shifting and discrepancies in the nation’s pulp trade with China.

APRIL rejected the profit-shifting allegations and said that “all export activities and tax arrangements comply with national and international laws and regulations,” Charles Hogan, the company’s head of international communications, wrote in an email to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

He added that, as a privately held company, APRIL “does not disclose financial or commercially sensitive information.”

Ex-ABC producer sues network for $10M in Amy Robach leaked Epstein tape scandal

A former ABC employee claims the network defamed her when it falsely accused her of leaking a tape of an anchor complaining about a Jeffrey Epstein-related interview getting buried, new court papers show.

Ex-ABC junior producer Ashley Bianco denied releasing a tape to right-wing group Project Veritas showing “Good Morning America” reporter Amy Robach griping about how ABC News killed her interview with Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

“Shortly after the video was publicized, defendants moved swiftly to find a scapegoat, and to that end, they knowingly made false accusations against [Bianco],” according to the Manhattan Supreme Court summons from Thursday.

This caused Bianco — who is asking for $10 million –to lose her job. She also claims “they further destroyed her career in the news industry and damaged her reputation,” according to the suit.

After Bianco was fingered as the leaker, an ABC News employee posted a letter on Project Veritas using the name “Ignotus” — a wizard from the “Harry Potter” stories — slamming the network for its “mission of seek and destroy” in finding the tape leaker.

Project Veritas confirmed that the letter was from the same person who gave them the Robach tape.

ABC News and parent company The Walt Disney Company — which is also named as a defendant in the case — did not immediately return requests for comment.

Judges who obtained their positions by fraud, according to an indictment, have denied the Trump campaign's ballot-watchers access, providing crucial unsupervised time to Democrat vote counters.

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. — Most Americans might not know the name Ozzie Myers, although a part of his tale was told in the hit 2013 movie “American Hustle” about the FBI sting that sent four congressmen to prison in the 1970s.

If you’re from Philadelphia, though, you know his name, and knew it well before 2013. He’s important to the country now because he’s currently under indictment for bribing a state elections judge to stuff ballots for Democratic candidates. Among the candidates he was paid to get elected are three as-yet-unnamed judges sitting on the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. That’s where President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign has to go when local election officials refuse to let campaign monitors oversee ballot integrity, as has been the case these past few days throughout Pennsylvania.

In addition, Trump’s U.S. attorney, William McSwain, has hinted that in addition to the three unidentified judges, those Democrats tainted by election-fixing go all the way from local officials to the U.S. Congress.

Why should anyone care about that court? Because it’s playing a major role in the presidential election.

On Tuesday, Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Stella Tsai ruled that the city’s Board of Elections was complying with state laws governing partisan election monitors, contradicting claims from the Trump campaign that GOP monitors were being kept too far away from absentee ballot-counters to observe whether ballots were being properly counted.

Then on Thursday, a state appellate court sided with the Trump campaign, ordering that election observers be allowed to stand within six feet of ballot-counters to ensure meaningful monitoring of the process. The City of Philadelphia immediately appealed the ruling to the state’s top court, which has yet to decide whether it will take up the matter.

Meanwhile, Republicans filed a lawsuit Tuesday in state court accusing Democratic election leaders of violating state code by authorizing local election officials to give information about rejected mail-in ballots to Democratic operatives so they could contact those voters and offer them a new ballot. Not only would such actions violate state law, they would defy a ruling from Pennsylvania’s state Supreme Court last month, which stated “mail-in or absentee voters are not provided any opportunity to cure perceived defects (to their ballot) in a timely manner.”

The back-and-forth in the courts, and the accusations of corruption at multiple levels of government, underscores the outsized role local Democratic officials are playing in the presidential election, with President Trump narrowly trailing former Vice President Joe Biden in a few key states, including Pennsylvania. In Philadelphia, those local officials are often connected to a Democratic Party machine with a long history of corruption, organized crime, and election fraud.

‘Happy day’: Pelosi hails ‘President-Elect Joe Biden’ with ‘tremendous mandate,’ votes still being counted in several states

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has embraced the “imminent” victory of Democrat Joe Biden, as battleground states continue to count votes and the Trump campaign files lawsuits.

The California Democrat framed the supposed upcoming victory as a “tremendous mandate,” even though the former vice president had yet to officially win the decisive 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency.

“I am so officially pleased with the outcome that is imminent, and also personally delighted because of the quality and caliber of leadership that Biden will provide,” Pelosi said.

This morning it is clear that the Biden-Harris ticket will win the White House.

“Pretty soon the hyphen will be gone from Vice President to President-Elect Joe Biden,” she suggested, adding that this is a “happy day” for the US.

The congresswoman gushed that Biden had won the “biggest vote ever in the history of our country” – 73.8 million at current count, though Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and a handful of other states have not finished processing ballots, and President Donald Trump has pledged to fight what he insists is rampant voter fraud in the courts.

Pelosi is far from the only Democrat to declare victory ahead of a decisive win for Biden. The candidate’s campaign launched its transition website on Wednesday, right after Election Day, even as Trump was claiming victory in Pennsylvania and demanding a recount in Wisconsin. While Biden himself had not declared certain victory at that time, he did tell reporters that he and vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris “believe we will be the winners.”

Biden’s rapid response director, Andrew Bates, also threatened Trump after reports that the president was not interested in conceding, telling Fox News on Friday that “the US government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.”

Federal Court Declares Genetically Engineered Salmon Unlawful

Court rules Food and Drug Administration failed to analyze risks to endangered salmon from escape. Rejects far-reaching FDA claim it lacks duty to protect the environment from genetically engineered animals.

Today, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) violated core environmental laws in approving the genetically engineered salmon. The Court ruled that FDA ignored the serious environmental consequences of approving genetically engineered salmon and the full extent of plans to grow and commercialize the salmon in the U.S. and around the world, violating the National Environmental Policy Act. The Court also ruled that FDA’s unilateral decision that genetically engineered salmon could have no possible effect on highly-endangered, wild Atlantic salmon was wrong, in violation of the Endangered Species Act. The Court ordered FDA to go back to the drawing board and FDA must now thoroughly analyze the environmental consequences of an escape of genetically engineered salmon into the wild.

“Today’s decision is a vital victory for endangered salmon and our oceans,” said George Kimbrell, CFS legal director and counsel in the case. “Genetically engineered animals create novel risks and regulators must rigorously analyze them using sound science, not stick their head in the sand as officials did here. In reality, this engineered fish offers nothing but unstudied risks. The absolute last thing our planet needs right now is another human-created crisis like escaped genetically engineered fish running amok.”

In 2016, Center for Food Safety (CFS) and Earthjustice—representing a broad client coalition of environmental, consumer, commercial and recreational fishing organizations and the Quinault Indian Nation—sued the FDA for approving the first-ever commercial genetically engineered animal, an Atlantic salmon engineered to grow twice as fast as its wild counterpart. The genetically engineered salmon was produced by AquaBounty Technologies, Inc. with DNA from Atlantic salmon, Pacific king salmon, and Arctic ocean eelpout. This marks the first time any government in the world has approved a commercially genetically engineered animal as food.

The Court ruled that FDA failed to consider and study the environmental risks of this novel GE fish. When GE salmon escape or are accidentally released into the environment, the new species could threaten wild populations by mating with endangered salmon species, outcompeting them for scarce resources and habitat, and/or introducing new diseases. The world’s preeminent experts on GE fish and risk assessment, as well as biologists at U.S. wildlife agencies charged with protecting fish and wildlife, heavily criticized FDA’s approval for failing to evaluate the impacts of GE salmon on native salmon populations. Yet FDA ignored their concerns in the final approval.

The large group of Trump supporters moved to the Crown Plaza, a large hotel down the street from the TCF Center. The police barricaded the roads around the Crown Plaza to keep the Trump supporters in one area. Shortly after they began gathering, two employees of the Crown Plaza came outside to tell them they had to move.

Two Detroit Police vehicles pulled Trump Unity Bridge owner and driver over, arrested him, and falsely accused him of having two arrest warrants.

We spoke to Rob Cortis, who was arrested after he was pulled over by two Detroit Police vehicles. Rob explained that he was turning left onto Congress from Shelby when he was pulled over by two Detroit Police vehicles. The Detroit Police officer, who approached Cortis, accused him of turning right without a signal. Rob told the officer that his blinker was still on when the officer pulled him over and that all he had to do what look and see that it was still blinking; and furthermore, Cortis explained that he wasn’t turning right, but that he was instead, he was turning left.

No Evidence To Support Trump’s Claims Of Voter Fraud, GOP Senator Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) Says

"Allegations of large-scale fraud and theft of the election are just not substantiated."

President Donald Trump has claimed that voter fraud is stealing the 2020 presidential election from him, but one Republican senator says there is no evidence to support his claim.

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA), whose state is a key battleground and where Democratic nominee Joe Biden took the lead Friday morning, according to The Associated Press, called the president’s claims “vey disturbing.”

“There’s simply no evidence anyone has shown me of any widespread corruption or fraud,” Toomey said.

During a press briefing at the White House on Thursday evening, Trump said, “In Pennsylvania, Democrats have gone to the State Supreme Court to try and ban our election observers, and very strongly.”

“Now, we won the case, but they’re going forward. They don’t want anybody in there. They don’t want anybody watching them as they count the ballots, and I can’t imagine why. There’s absolutely no legitimate reason why they would not want to have people watching this process, because if it’s straight, they would be, they should be proud of it. Instead, they’re trying, obviously, to commit fraud. There’s no question about that,” the president said.

Toomey blasted the claim.

“I saw the president’s speech last and it was very hard to watch. The president’s allegations of large-scale fraud and theft of the election are just not substantiated,” Toomey, who has announced he will retire from Congress at the end of 2022, said on NBC’s “Today.”

“I’m not aware of any significant wrongdoing here. Look, there are irregularities in every election. They tend to typically be very small and involve just a handful of ballots,” he added.

Trump made other allegations in his Thursday statement.

“Democrat officials never believed they could win this election honestly. I really believe that. That’s why they did the mail-in ballots, where there’s tremendous corruption and fraud going on,” Trump said.

Newt Gingrich: The CORRUPT believe the American people are ‘spineless…cowards’

Former speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, a long time top political analyst and best selling author, told Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday that the presidential election has been mired in corruption and must be investigated if America is to survive.

Gingrich is right and his warning should be headed. He referenced his decades long career since 1958, saying “I’m the angriest I have been in that entire six decades.”

He reiterated that a “group of corrupt people who have absolute contempt for the American people who believe we are so spineless, so cowardly, so unwilling to stand up for ourselves that they can steal the presidency.”

The corrupt bureaucrats that targeted President Donald Trump since the start of his presidency believe we – the American people – will do nothing but “wring our hands,” he said.

The “hope is that President Trump will lead the millions of Americans, who understand exactly what’s going on – the Philadelphia machine is corrupt, the Atlanta machine is corrupt, the machine in Detroit is corrupt – and they are trying to steal the presidency and we should not allow them to do that,” Gingrich went on to say.

My thoughts:

I’m grateful I’m not the only one feeling this way. This is not about being a soar loser this is about election corruption and suppression of the will of the American people. We’ve been watching this same routine of targeting President Trump since he was elected in 2016 and our nation’s foundation is eroding. Soon there won’t be the America of our fore-fathers but something far different than we could have ever imagined. A nation cannot survive this type of systemic corruption.

Lindsey Graham says Joe Biden ‘deserves’ cabinet picks if elected

Joe Biden “deserves” to have his cabinet picks confirmed by the Senate, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said Friday, while vowing to find “common ground” if the Democrat wins the presidency.

Fresh off re-election to his South Carolina seat, Graham spoke to reporters about how he’d handle a potential Biden win — as key swing states continue to tip in the former vice president’s favor.

“I ran on two things, that I will be a reliable vote to stop the most radical agenda being pushed by [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi and others in the history of the United States,” the GOP senator said on a Zoom call, The Hill reported. “I also talked about openly in my campaign at all the debates about [how] I have reached across the aisle and will continue to do so.”

He said he’d oppose the Green New Deal, Medicare for All and packing the Supreme Court but would remain open to working with Biden as he appoints his cabinet, if the Democratic candidate is elected.

“When it comes to finding common ground, I will do that. The vice president deserves a cabinet,” Graham said. “I will give him my input about who I could vote for as secretary of state, attorney general.”
