‘Indivisible,’ With Ties to George Soros, Sows Division Against Trump, GOP Lawmakers

Democrats who used to work on Capitol Hill are helping to disrupt Republican lawmakers’ town hall meetings across the country through a nationwide effort to oppose and “resist” President Donald Trump’s agenda.

They call their group Indivisible Guide, a name that came from an actual guide posted online telling activists how to pressure members of Congress. Among topics: what to say when going to town halls and calling or visiting a member’s office.

Leaders of the organization have loose ties to George Soros, the billionaire hedge fund manager who bankrolls liberal causes, according to the Capital Research Center, a conservative think tank that investigates nonprofits.

However, in an email Friday to The Daily Signal, board members of Indivisible Guide denied financial backing from Soros:

We have received donations from more than 4,000 people since putting a donate button on our site two weeks ago. We think George Soros funds many worthy programs, but he has not funded us. We understand why it’s convenient for Republicans to dismiss widespread popular disapproval as astroturf, but anyone looking at the numbers for the Women’s March and other recent events knows better.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to investigate election after Trump alleges fraud without evidence

MADISON - Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is using the Legislature's power to subpoena witnesses to investigate Tuesday's election after President Donald Trump alleged without evidence his vote totals in Wisconsin are hamstrung by "irregularities."

Vos ordered the Assembly's committee overseeing elections to lead an investigation under a state statute that allows lawmakers to require testimony.

"With concerns surfacing about mail-In ballot dumps and voter fraud, Wisconsin citizens deserve to know their vote counted," Vos, R-Rochester, said in a statement. An aide to Vos did not immediately answer where ballot dumps are alleged to have occurred.

"There should be no question as to whether the vote was fair and legitimate, and there must be absolute certainty that the impending recount finds any and all irregularities," Vos said.

FBI arrests Clarksville man over ISIS-connected terrorism threats against police, Fort Campbell

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man has been arrested following an investigation by the FBI into ISIS-connected terrorist threats they say he made against the Clarksville Police Department and the Fort Campbell PX Exchange.

Jason Solomon Stokes, 41, was arrested Aug. 20 and charged with sending threatening communications interstate, a federal crime, according to documents unsealed today and obtained by Clarksville Now.

Stokes never obtained weapons for such an attack, but documents indicate he coordinated over social media with operatives he believed to be ISIS members, trying to obtain weapons and planning an attack on CPD headquarters and the store at Fort Campbell.

Trump Mulling Firing Top Officials at the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, Report Claims

On Thursday, a senior Pentagon spokesman dismissed reporting by NBC News that Secretary of Defence Mark Esper was preparing to proactively resign from his post in the expectation that he would be one of the cabinet officials to be pushed out by President Trump in the coming weeks.

President Donald Trump is considering firing Secretary of Defence Esper, CIA director Gina Haspel and others, including FBI Director Christopher Wray, The Hill has reported, citing sources said to be familiar with the situation.

One source told the outlet that despite recent Pentagon statements to the contrary, Esper could be forced out as soon as this week. A second source noted however that nothing has been set in stone so far.

Vatican OKs probe of sex abuse coverup by Polish bishop

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The Vatican has ordered an investigation into allegations that a now-retired archbishop in Poland was negligent in investigating reports of sex abuse of minors by priests in his Gdansk archdiocese.

The Vatican Embassy in predominantly Roman Catholic Poland said the archbishop of Warsaw had been assigned to conduct the probe and that the preliminary investigation into Archbishop Slawoj Leszek Glodz has been completed.

The embassy provided no details about the outcome in a statement issued this week.

Pope Francis accepted Glodz’s resignation on his 75th birthday in August, a sign he was taking the allegations against the archbishop seriously. Glodz, who had also served as the chief chaplain of Poland’s armed force, denies any negligence.

Baoding (AsiaNews) - Catholic sources in Hebei say that on the morning of November 2, two priests from the unofficial community of Baoding and more than a dozen seminarians and nuns from the same community were forcibly taken away by government officials. After a few hours, two seminarians were released.

On the same day, Fr. Lu Genjun, former vicar general of Baoding, was taken away. Until now, no one knows where they are being held.

A priest from the underground community of Baoding, commenting on the incident, pointed out that the abduction took place shortly after the renewal of the provisional agreement between China and the Vatican. He asked all Catholics to pray for the kidnapped and for full religious freedom in China.

The diocese of Baoding, with over 500,000 faithful, is one of the cornerstones of the unofficial community. Its bishop, Msgr. Giacomo Su Zhimin, has been missing in police custody since 1997 and nothing is known about his fate since then.
