I KNEW there was something about "MERCER" here! I was reminded of it when I saw Catherine Herridge's pen with "MERCER" on it and Mike Pompeo's dogs Mercer and Sherman!

Reading the linked article suggests that if the Mercer's bailed on helping Trump it wasn't because they didn't like Trump. The press attention seems to me to have upset them. "Destroyed" (the word used in the article in a quote) seems to convey something even stronger.
