I have 3 ways to read this. The first is exactly as you posted.
The second is that letting Biden get in and THEN bringing the hammer down would be a blockbuster-esque twist. Having to literally invalidate an election would be a unique historical event.
The third is that the plan has failed, and I try to keep that thought from mind as best I can.
Symbolism will be their downfall.
