I spoke yesterday with a retired Lt.Col, he was a Vietnam Era vet, Special Forces. He is 81 now. He needed a few parts to finish an upper he was working on. I gave him the parts he needed to complete the build. We talked lightly around things and caught up with one another as it had been 6 years or so since we spoke. Before we parted, he became uncharacteristicly serious and looked me dead in my eyes and said "they are here,there's an insurgency….do not empty your mag on first contact", I shut the fuck up and probably looked scared af, then he hobbled back to his truck, I cant get it out of my mind.
