The Hatch Act

President Trump and Vice President Pence are exempt from Hatch Act violations.

He can't use Government money or his own money to fight this because it looks like a conflict of interest. The Left will scream he's violating the Hatch Act. He's not, it's his supporters money he is using.

Hence why he's asking for legal donations.

Possible Theory

Now, they may kick and scream that he's violating the Hatch Act and attempt to solicit public funds for the opposing legal team. However, that's where he's played them yet again. It could be considered a breach of campaign finance laws. Thus Kamala and Joe would be guilty.
