Think what a nice life you can have in DC, acting a bit in Congress and making side (endorsement) deals for extra cash. All you need to do is play the game, never become “primaried”, promise your voting constituency big things every few years, and just maintain the appearance of activity while the real power players loot the world. There was never a profession more disreputable than that of an American politician.
