“Through ICMEC and The Koons Family Institute on International Law & Policy, we are making an international difference. At any moment we are one step closer to saving another child, saving another childhood, bringing another child home.”
JUSTINE KOONS
Demi and Ashton Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded by the Hollywood actors Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher in 2010 to combat the organized sexual exploitation of girls around the globe.
DNA Foundation’s mission is to end human trafficking affecting children, and especially the sexual exploitation of children, whether it is through child sex trafficking or child pornography.
Believing that freedom is a basic human right, the founders created DNA to help end child sex slavery by supporting and developing innovative programs that address the root causes of child sex slavery.
DNA has worked hard to bring awareness of child sex trafficking into the mainstream: indeed, through the Real Men Don’t Buy Girls campaign, it reached millions of people with messaging about the issue. It also has partnered with law enforcement to train officers on indicators of human trafficking, and worked with CNN to produce the documentary ʺNepal’s Stolen Childrenʺ about sex trafficking in India and Nepal. It has funded the work of survivor organizations including GEMS, CAST-LA and Maiti Nepal.
Using advanced geotracking technology and analytics to have a better impact of its work, DNA worked with MCV Search Marketing to design several high engagement campaigns to bring child trafficking to the forefront of media and the public. It also lent its support to the United Nations’ efforts to fight human trafficking, a scourge the international organization estimates affects about 2.5 million people worldwide.
