I have to go the the grocery store and pick up a few items:
Eggs
Bread
Milk
Cheese
Coffee
Bacon
Tomatoes
Soup
Potato Chips
Ice Cream
I scan my items at the checkout. They ring up the total amount due and I pay my bill. I then receive an itemized receipt for my purchases that includes a description of what the item is and it’s price along with the day and time, the cashier’s name, the total amount due, the amount I paid and even including the amount of change I received. Have A Nice Day!
But yet, for some odd reason, when I go to the polls and vote, I can’t get a simple print out of how I voted at the ballot box. My form is fed into a computer and then it displays a nice American flag and a message, Thank You For Your Vote. I then receive a little sticker, “I Voted”.
What the fuck is so damn difficult about getting a simple receipt listing how I voted? The time of day, etc.
Why can’t I look this receipt up on a website if I should feel there may be an issue and to verify that yes my vote has been counted and it is accurate? What is so damn difficult about this? This is obviously not advanced technology, it’s fairly basic. Instead I’ve got CNN telling me how I voted all lumped in with massive numbers that no one can verify.
The theft of elections must end NOW! Today, RIGHT NOW!!!
This has to become front and center on everyone’s mind. This is a BIG problem.
