FYI we took out Q. Hopefully things will get better now.
Some OG Anonymous members from 420chan dug up details on domains Jim Watkins used to own - lots of thinly disguised pedophilia stuff in there. We got 420chan founder Kirtaner into a room with AJ Vicens and Ali Breland from Mother Jones, someone who knows 8chan founder Fredrick Brennan got some information from him, and this story was the final result.

Watkins was producing pornography in Japan, he now lives in the Philippines, but his son Ron was 8chan/8kun admin, and he still lives in Japan. Ron precipitously exited right after the story came out and there have been no Q drops since. We assume he's trying to duck some sort of criminal liability, but that is just conjecture.
The lack of new Q drops seems to indicate that whomever has assumed control of the site is having technical difficulties in this area. One of us has examined their code base closely and there are … curious things in their tripcode generation cryptography.

Brennan, 8chan’s original founder, has suggested Watkins’ involvement goes deeper, positing he took advantage of his power as the owner of 8kun to essentially hijack the account that claims to be Q. Other researchers and journalists have raised the possibility that Watkins has some involvement or knowledge of who runs the account. Watkins has denied that claim, or having acted as Q.
