Thank You Baker o7

Good morning prayerfags, and welcome to November 8th, the 22nd Sunday after Trinity. Johann Sebastian Bach, considered by many to be the greatest church musician EVER, wrote 3 cantatas for Trinity 22, and today we listen to Cantata 115, Mache dich, mein Geist, bereit (Prepare yourself, my soul), first performed on November 5, 1724 at the St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, where Bach spent the last 30 years of his career. Today’s performance is by Collegium Vocale de Leipzig / Ensemble Baroque de Limoges / Christophe Coin.

"Therefore let us always

be awake, entreat and pray,

since anguish, distress and danger

approach ever nearer;

for the time

is not far

when God will judge us

And destroy the world."
