Shooting 72 is usually considered 'par' of the course. For the round, if you shot 80, that is 8 over par. If you shot 70, that is 2 under par.
Individual holes are:
Par + 2 = Double Bogey
Par + 1 = Bogey
Par - 1 = Birdie
Par - 2 = Eagle
Par - 3 = Double Eagle
